Well Done Man
$5200
1973 Chevrolet k-20 custom 4 wheel drive long bed truck.
NO SMOG square body!!!
It’s been sitting for 5 years so it needs the kinks worked out (like the gauges don’t work, the speedo does, so it's probably a voltage regulator thing), but I drive it around town and it's a hell of a truck!
I just called DMV and it would take $800 to bring the truck current and in your name. That was about $600 in back fees and $200 in new fees to transfer, that’s why this is the cheapest square body on Craigslist. I've been told and reading online ways to lower those fees, so it's possible.
The truck has a new fuel pump and I cleaned out the gas tank.
Hard to find Air conditioning truck, power steering, power disc brakes, cruise control.
I was told the engine was gone though 10 years ago and holy heck does it run well!
The transmission also shifts great
Chevy 350 v8 (edelbrock intake, HEI upgrade), TH350 trans, np205 transfer case, dana 44 front, 14 bolt rear.
The body is amazingly mostly straight for an almost 50 year old truck.
The wheel wells in the bed are not even beat up.
A little rust on the hood in the passenger side corner that is easy to fix, the back bottom of the passenger fender is rusted good, so it needs a new fender, part of the rust is in the inner rocker too, but it does not look like it spread much further.
The Interior needs a seat, door cards and a dash pad, along with some paint on the gauge cluster trim (easy rattle can job).
The truck runs and drives very good, but again it's been sitting and I'm just putting it around town.
