Is it worth spending the extra $17 to get a 220 volt Ideal heated siping knife vs the 110 volt one?

110 volt: $83
220 volt: $100

I'm looking to sipe my HMMWV tires; found out this morning new HMMWV tires and icy roads don't do well AT ALL.

Suggestions encouraged/welcomed as well. :)

Sipes as in just literal cuts? Or are you trying to take a small groove out?

Those groovers suck, but might be ok for just Sipes.

I would see if your local les schwab has a siping machine, you'll be pulling your hail out by the end of the 2nd tire.

But in the end, it's all probably a waste of time with those tires :flipoff2:

Sipes/small cuts.

Interesting point (I don't know shit about electricity).

nOOB question:
Why would they sell/offer both?

Long story short; 220V/250W pulls half the current of a 110V/250W unit.

Other than that - as YAT mentioned, it all depends on what voltage you have available. A 110V unit would be mostly useless in Europistan

Ah; I keep forgetting there are other countries besides the U.S. of A. :flipoff2::laughing: :usa:
