07 2v 4.6 sparkplug and ign coil ?'s

Just threw a missfire on cyl 2 so time for new plugs and maybe coils
Any tips or tricks not to strip the head or just pray
If I need coils what ones,cheap $7 ones and toss a spare in the trunk or $40 ford or ac delcos

You're not at a ton of risk to strip the head in one that late production, it was an issue with the earlier stuff. Use a torque wrench on the plugs if you're really worried, 14 ft/lbs. Blow off the top of the engine around the plugs before you pull the coils out, and watch for coolant down the holes from the intake leaking.

I've installed a fuckin' ton of Standard coils with no issues, I have MSD streetfires in my 5.4 truck because I was too cheap for OEM at the time.

Non issue in a 2v I hate that bad info has gone so viral . 4.6 2v is damn near bulletproof .

There is a small chance you can really ramrod a plug to the point of damaging the threads in the earlier heads leading to a blow out plug but by the mid '00s they were pretty figured out.

Yeah I know I was a Ford tech during the time they were a lot more prevalent .
