What did you do for your ford today?

I finally put the shocks & steering stabilizer on the F350. I had forgotten what it's like to work on something like this. Nothing fits? Get a hammer, wood and some grease out of my purse. Fortunately it rained off and on to remind me I'm alive and to hurry up. I retorqued the wheels lugs and inspected the chassis/suspension for good measure.

The boy was my tool guy again so I didn't have to do extra calisthenics after realizing I needed something more/else. He's learning fast, and very eager. Part way through the shocks the rain began. He looked outside and asked me "We're gonna keep going, right?" while reaching for the tools. Damn straight, Son....he's been curing my depression these days.

Hosed all the ATF mist off the body and what I could get underneath.

What’s a good set of wheels for a F150, 2012. Between the tires and the wheel I need to keep adding air monthly.

I've run Durtracs on mine. The one tire I had that kept slowly needing air I finally found the smallest puncture and plugged it. I had to drill it out to fit the plug in.

Built a nice harness for a backup alarm for work, triggered off up fitter + reverse lights and then proceeded to complete the last 5% of the job like a monkey with a wrench. Not the proudest of wiring harness routing from up fitter to rear bumper once it gets to about front leaf spring hanger… that’s the point I started to say **** it. But at least I ran a bundle of 5 wires so any future lights etc I want through the up fitter is already pulled to the rear.

Also put the resistor in for the high idle off the up fitter. Didn’t work at first, turns out I’m assuming the harness has one side labeled for gas and one side labeled for diesel and uses the same color wires. Must have grabbed the gas color, so I just de-pinned the harness connector and swapped the wires and bingo bango

After 5 hours in the 91 f350, me and the kid hooped in the explorer to go exploring. He doesn't usually get to sit in the front seat, but no wife this trip.

Found out it has a cassette and CD player. Blew his mind away. We had to call Mom to tell her that the explorer is the most awesome car ever and that we need to find more cassettes:laughing:

Otherwise, it's got a whine, either gears or bearings. It went down slightly after pulling the front driveshaft. Figure I'll run it until it turns into a clunk or grind, but it seems to be getting better with time. Quieter in general and larger periods of no noise, depending on loaded direction

8.8’s are famous for the crush sleeve collapsing. Lettingbthe pinion bearings get loose and making gear noise. It’s more common in the F150’s and Vans because they’re heavier. But a 5.0 ex is right there. Take the weight off the rear wheels and see if the rear pinion is loose, has up/down play at all.

time to solid axle swap it and put a bronco dana 20 in it (I'm assuming it's AWD)

Huh, that'd be nice if that's all it ends up being.

What case did you put in?
