People will do as they want, and justify it.
I used to care, wash and buff. Have not in years.
Still like my interiors clean.
Even toys get dust wiped off and rock and roll.
Mechanicsl maintenance makes them last longer, washing and polishing does not.
As for potential buyers, I am not selling a collectable. As is - cash - or **** off.
Dirt accumulation leads to corrosion.

I prefer keeping my junk clean. Eastern Wa coats everything with wind blown dirt. 25ish bucks a month to drive up/thru/out unlimitedly just flat works.
