Electric Dirt Bikes

I did buy an extra 21kw surron motor and plan on putting that in my golf cart...
interested in a thread when you screw with it
all my diesels smoke white terribly bad in low power driving, but they're fine on the freeway
21kw converts over to 30ish hp
belted to the driveshaft would be really interesting, only need enough battery for about two miles of city driving and 30hp would probably do okay at 'city driving' speeds

Until better batteries come along electric is still a niche usage.

I rolled my bike out of the garage that I put away in September, hit the button, and it fired right up. The big bikes don't need constant clutches, top ends, or carb cleaning (if you use decent gas). All I did was check tire and suspension air pressure, and hit the trails.

I did hate the Jap bikes for the requirement of replacing everything with aftermarket if you wanted it to last. But, jumping on a Surron reminded me of a heavy downhill mountain bike. Not nearly on the same level as the 300s in my garage.
100%

i just counted:lmao: i have 13gas bikes, trizinger 3wheeler, and lt80, blaster quads. all but 1 under 200cc. i'm more about stupid fun than serious fun) the 1 big bike, a dyna, probably needs an oil change and things... but its done what i want for the last 5yrs without anything but fuel.

the rest of the bikes, kick start stuff.... its going to all go electric. dont get me wrong when its the right day, i love to tinker on the bikes and have fun. but when i'm getting the mail down the drive, i'll always grab the kids tuttio.

more on topic. the bike of the thread, Surron, is at the top of what the ebikes have gotten to. not touching a 300cc bike.... but really half of the appeal of an ebike, is the on button works and they make little noise. you can ride them anywhere you cant be seen,(big for the western states with lots of public land) and allot of places you can. many places a spark plug would get allot of attention. i wouldn't risk riding a cr125 to the gas station for a 6pack.... but a surron i would, and have a smile on my face the whole way.

better batteries are available, thats a cost vs use issue. wont replace petrol in many area yet. emerging markets blah blah

ebikes are a trade off of fuel problems of for other problems. or benefits... half of smaller gas bike guys would be happier with an ebike. and as a side note, every guy i know that is really go on a big bike mx type, own some type of ebike.

Ah, you're the ride around in the yard guy. They make a lot more sense for that.

The Surron didn't impress me. But I do live out west, and the e-bikes are already illegal anywhere a gas bike is. So if I'm tossing bikes in the truck to drive 30-45 minutes to the trails, it'll be a real dirt bike.

The real battery issue is charging. If I can't refuel in 15 minutes while I eat lunch at camp, they haven't gotten the battery to the level they need to be at to finally kill gas engines.

I got these bikes last wednesday. 6 were mine. 4 were a buddies.
I already sold 4 of mine. I'm rounding purchase price numbers because I dont want to look up actuals.
LBX purchase 2600 sold 3700
LBX purchase 2600 sold 3500
UB purchase 4200 sold 5500
UB purchase 4200 sold 5300

I sold them below market value based on selling everything within 6 days. Made a higher $% profit on the LBX.

I made about 4400 so far which means my kids UB is free.

I still have 1 UB that I might keep or might sell. It sure would be nice to have an extra bike to ride. I could always sell for cost at the end of the year.

Know of one guy thats on the edge of city limits, backed up to blm. Has trail cut goin everywhere. And a few neighbors that like to call him in if his 300 fires up during fire season. Insert battery bike here...Now he shreds year round and karen can **** off :grinpimp:

also montana is more like the mid west. :flipoff2:

Also worth noting. These were shipped DDP.

Logistics and Shipping (Delivered Duty Paid)
In international trade, Delivered Duty Paid (DDP) is a shipping agreement where the seller assumes all responsibility, risk, and costs for transporting goods until they are delivered to the buyer’s location. This means the seller handles import/export clearance and pays for all duties, taxes, and freight fees.

Was the delivered charger a Chinese version needing a transformer? If so, what was your opinion of the charger?

used ones in this area are listed for $5500-7000...

I think the "new" 2026 require a transformer for now. The battery voltage or connector might be different. I imagine they will eventually have a normal charger.

Mine was an old 2026 built in march. My charger is a standard 1000 watt charger. It fits under the seat and has a standard north american plug.
Looks like this.

The kids buy the light bees for $4000 and then put thousands in extras on them. They then try to sell for what the have into them. I'd say 1/2 the people wanting my ultra bee were looking to upgrade from a modded light bee or similar cheaper bike. They got mad when I turned down their even trade for their $7,000 bike for my $5500 bike. If their bikes were so easy to sell and worth what they are saying they should have no issue selling themselves.

My worst offer was $300 cash and a $700 dirtbike for my $3,500 light bee X

These look fun!!! No way are they gonna be cool when they are 20 years old. That is the part that turns me away, most of my quads and dirt bikes are older models. When I am done with them, I sell them for what I paid or more normally. :)

Thinking about ordering machines from Alibaba for work and am watching that side of this thread as well.

Ah, so it's easier to ride illegal trails? :stirthepot:

Montana can't be Midwest, we have public land. Whenever I'm in the actual midwest it always depresses me that there's nothing available to ride.
