Portable tool kit

My vehicle tool set is one of these: 3/8 in. Drive SAE and Metric Master Impact Socket Set, 48-Piece

You can get 3/8" or 1/2" - pair it with a matched cordless impact gun. The Quinn stuff seems to be a good position for price/quality. Having the sockets in their case with their specific locations makes it easier to not lose stuff out on the trail - you can easily see if something wasn't put back.

From there, I have a tool roll and bag with a selection of combination wrenches, pliers, screwdrivers, and such that I've found useful.

Speaking of.... Do most just throw the shop batteries/tools in the truck/rig, stick with hand tools only, or buy a 2nd/cheaper set? If you carry battery tools, which ones (tool and/or brand), and do you have a battery charger wired into the rig, or just charge at home/camp?

I keep the socket set, tool roll, and tool bag in each vehicle. They have a standard wrench with them too. The impact (and others) and batteries are grabbed if I'm expecting to use them, but are otherwise the shop batteries/cordless tools. All my cordless stuff is DeWalt just because I started with it and didn't want to have a bunch of different platforms to deal with. I don't take a charger with me, but will take several batteries depending on what I'm doing. If I get into something that I'm likely to be gone for awhile, I'd start looking at mobile charging options.

I have a couple tool bags and tool baskets that stack together.
If I am road tripping or going out of town I take my garage tools as needed.

Have some duplicates but have weeded that out into my two main boxes.
I bought these tools to use them, if they fall short I upgrade.
See no need to buy additional kits. Use my best tools as the need arises.

If I have an issue in town I will figure it out/have the vehicle towed home.
Once here and on my time I will fix/repair and do what is needed.
