I purchased a pretty cool 79 that I have back burnered for now. Bought a 78 that is a little rougher. Going to make a daily out of it. Not a restoration or looking for perfection.

As far as parts suppliers go, I am looking for decent parts for reasonable. Because of my Bronco background I know most of them.

Is LMC a decent place to do business? They seemed to have a decent price on the 38 gallon tank etc.

Are all floor pans basically the same, like stamped at the same company like a lot of car parts? I want the most coverage (widest tallest) to get some minor rust.

Debating on AMD pans from Summit and tank and hardware from LMC.

Any thoughts or advice on purchasing bang for the buck?

I will post up some pics here in a bit. It needs help.

I buy all my patch panels from Tabco, most of their stuff is made in the US and it's a little heavier gauge than the parts I've gotten from LMC or Dennis Carpenter. LMC seems to buy **** from all over, some of it is good, some of it is junk. I replaced a rotted out cowl end on my '76 with one of theirs and it was the worst fitting patch I've ever had to use. I buy more from Dennis Carpenter and Bronco Graveyard for small parts, little better quality than the LMC stuff I've used.
The LMC cowl end panels are not made particularly accurately, not worth the 50 bucks. Glad I only needed the bottom end, would have played hell with fender alignment to use the whole thing. I didn't take any pictures of this finished up because it was ugly and frustrating to say the least.

Thank you. That's the info I am looking for. I kinda wondered that about LMC. I have ran into that with Broncos. Nice price but then poorly threaded knobs etc. make it a cruddy experience.

Never heard of tabco, will look them up.

That is a big gap. No fun to fix that.

Some sort of retro lift on it. Going to try it out for now. I want smooth and I don’t mind a little body roll- may remove sway bar idk. Primarily gonna be snow, a little bit of sand and just firewood and dirt bike hauling that kind of thing.

I need to check on who I got the parts for the 93, you don't want them...

Npd is who I used.

The tailgate was probably 1/2 the weight of the factory one, I bent it just loading the shovelhead , everything I got had to be hand fitted and wouldn't fit on an adjoining component they furnished.

I have very little reason to shop lmc but unfortunately they have some stuff you won’t find elsewhere.

38 gallon tank, Google is your best friend for lower price or free shipping options. I’ve bought 2 at lower prices & free shipping from generic online parts sources-not a specialist site. Ex carparts dot com. Be mindful of which tank you purchase. 2 different filler/vent options depending on EEC or not.

Call AMD or register an account with them for the best prices.

It’s gots radius arms, no sway bar necessary. 🤪

This one is single shock. Cheap superlift I believe. Rides great drives nice around town. Never had it on road yet.

Other trucks lift looks like something from about 1997. It does have a little better geometry visually. Hope to get it running in next few days. We’ll see.

LMC is one of those things that is awesome on paper but a bit crap in execution. They have stuff you basically cannot find anywhere else, but the quality is so-so usually. Repop parts that fit poorly, rubber that disintegrates into dust in a year or so, that sort of thing. Or so has been my experience.

I've used LMC a few times. Like others have said, sometimes they have parts that you can't find elsewhere.

Bought a front end kit for my 86 SquareBody. Headlights (4), turn signals, grill, upper/lower grill trim and headlight surrounds. They had it as once part number but I'm assuming that they put it together themselves from individual parts they stock. When it arrived I was missing one of the high beams. Called them up and eventually got them to agree to send me another. Chalked it up to a mis-pick at the warehouse. When it finally showed up it was a low beam they sent me. Called them again and they did not want to send me the correct one. Threatened a charge back and the finally agreed to send the correct one again.

Another time was parts for my 70 Jimmy. Side marker lenses, tail lights, reverse lights and door handles (inner/outer). This order arrived complete only I ended up an extra rear side marker lens. I want to say all the parts were OER brand. Initially everything seemed like good quality, door handles had nice weight to them/nice finish. About 3 months after installing them the button on the driver's handle got real stiff but would still work. Went to open it one day and it wouldn't move. Popped it good with the palm of my hand and the button fell out.

My biggest issue with LMC is their shipping times. On the case with the 86, the first order took about 3 weeks to come in. Second light took another 2 and the third took 3 more. I have used them for other items/orders without issues and every order always takes its time before leaving them.

I probably could have called them about the door handle and gotten a replacement but I was too pissed off to deal with it at the time. That truck really only gets driven with the windows down and top rolled up so I just reach in and use the inside handle. And the quality issue is more of a brand/supplier (OER) problem vs. a distributor (LMC) problem.

For restoration parts I look to Classic Industries or Summit first. My stuff is mainstream enough that I can pretty much find what I need anywhere. Most of the parts are coming from the same place anyway. Classic and Summit have better shipping, times/costs, and usually run better discounts/sales.

I appreciate your input. I have seen this from other vendors with Broncos. The parts look good, but once you get them the fit is slightly off, or loose and sloppy etc. I did not take the LMC order and run with it. It just kinda felt to good to be true.

So I did get alot of parts ordered. I bought a body mount kit, battery tray and AMD floor pans etc. through Summit. As expected everything arrived on time, in good condition. Pans actually looked decent. I will know this week when I get into that part of the project. Nice gauge on the pans and tray.

I did a small parts order through Jeffs Bronco Graveyard. Decent pricing, meh shipping. Haven't gotten that order yet. And then a Rock auto order that looked like a disaster with the packing. Parts were ok though.

Will attach pics here in a bit. Kinda funny the RA packing job.

Door panels from LMC are pretty **** for my bronco. Have had to glue them a few times and the coating is cracking. If you can find OEM stuff in good shape grab it.
