What did you do to your yota today?

Got the new 4.88 diff in. Working off the ground, bench pressing the diff in while being pecked by the rooster was great. :shaking:

Axles in. Need a new 41mm socket.... :shaking: On order is the 231 Tundy brake upgrade which will be next week. If I need to rock it ill pop the old brake **** on for a min.
That brake caliper hanging in front of strut had me so confused for a second. "What the **** type of strut is that?"

They get bigger and bigger every time I get new ones. Lol

I think on mine I ended up buying factory axle nuts so that I could run the factory anti loosening castle nuts. Otherwise the aftermarket nuts don’t align with the cotter pin holes.

Finally got mine all painted and back together. Time to work on the rear bumper now

Man I wish this was coming together faster. Got the timing belt back on, managed to **** up the cross over for the fuel rails so I’ve either gotta find one at pick n pull or order one. Decided I’m gonna do a big 7 kit while I’m here and I found a cady alternator that might be good for future proofing too. WFO is about to have a 15% off sale for Memorial Day so I’ll be ordering their radius arm kit in a couple weeks.

Been trying to clean up the gunk from the previous oil leaks as I go, but that’s a tedious job. Thank god the skid plates won’t need to go back on, they’re so full of crap. The big one was a squirrels stash.

Didn’t realize until too late that the vacuum hose kit I ordered was for the 01-02 so I might have to go get some parts from pick n pull to make it work.

Modeled up the rear bumper on Fusion so I could get all the cut angles figured out. Printed it off and modeled it using cardboard...

Actual bumper is going to have a 2x4x.25 rect tubing across the bottom of the hatch. The notch on the cardboard is just to mockup the height easier...

Time to start fabbin

no pic but i installed some harbor freight air horns in my tundra. getting real tired of tourist season already...

my regular horn keeps sticking and i think it needs a new clockspring $$$$$$$:frown::frown:

Been tracking down a vibration on the wifes Tacoma for the last couple months. I never drive it, so its only on my mind when I do. Changed the oil on it yesterday, and while crawling around under it, found the ujoint at the center bearing had a broken cap. The bearing is still tight, but the joint was trashed. Also found a loose vacuum line on the front diff. I am assuming it goes to the ADD. Hooked it back up and took it for a short drive. The vibration is 99% gone. There was a noise associated with the vibration, which sounded similar to driving on dry roads with the front hubs locked in. ie, the front end wasn't disconnecting entirely. That noise went away as well...
It is due for new tires, and the chrome on the wheels is starting to peel, so will be replacing the wheels at the same time as the tires. Hopefully that is the slight vibration it still has. (it has had a slight vibration since these wheels were installed)

yeah here it is.

Got everything back together, filled with oil and put distilled water in the radiator and while looking for the battery bracket noticed a decent leak coming from underneath. At first I thought maybe I left the drain on the side of the block open but it’s the coolant hoses going to the throttle body that are leaking. Gotta get new hoses. Sooooo close to firing this thing up.
