Build '26 X3 Turbo X

I can't really do that, I have a carbon fiber roof on it plus I don't want the light bar above the roof line. I've about ripped it off on low tree branches as it is. I'm going to try a strip of aluminum across the bottom to try to reflect some of the glare away from the windshield.

Mount it on the bottom of the windshield?

^^^^ The glass will be worth it. I am kinda shocked the seller is not taking better care of you for the difficulties you are having. Does not look good on them.
Hoping this is a one time deal....
And to your point, I jumped through my ass to get the glass shipped back ASAP to them, but because they are closed on Friday and apparently don't receive shipments that day it was not delivered until Monday.
I comment that this is a LOOOONG process and if they can get that thing shipped back out ASAP that would really help.
"Oh sure we'll get right on that"
Well it was not picked up until 3:30 Wednesday, and now will not arrive until Monday....
I ordered it on the 9th...

Thinking about it now, why in the **** did they re-glass the windshield I ordered? I knew that sucked when she said that's what they would do but I assumed that was a line to be sure I sent mine in. Since my windshield was the same condition as when they shipped it, it would make way more sense to just slap a sticker on a completely new windshield and send it out next/same day.
But here we are, using the worst shipping company in existence. :mad3:

OH and this mofo is not even going to be delivered to my house... It's going to a hub 28 miles away.

I kinda thought the same thing, they should have drop shipped you another one as soon as they got a tracking number on the one you were sending back. Or bare minimum overnight the glass and offer to pay to have it installed.

We used to receive glass shipments all the time, it takes some extra care in packaging but it's completely doable.

Basically suspend the glass in a 2x4 box in foam inserts and staple cardboard to the outside of it.

The windshield seemed to be packed well enough. IT had liquid foam molded inserts around the perimeter 360*, then 2 layers of big bubble, bubble wrap on each side. The crack came from one of the two fork holes I imagine.

And to your point I assumed the same because the CS lady commented she was really surprised I sent in the requested pictures.
She said people never do that...
Seemed simple to me, send the pics, they claim to repair windshield and as soon as the fedex tracking is picked up, they send the new one. Belt and suspenders for them, as was said in this thread I think someone had re-glassed a windshield that was free/cause damaged in transit.

I sent them a dirty email now, but they are closed so they won't get it until Monday, where they won't GAF then either.

Wonder if they deal with a lot of fraud, people demanding an entire new setup when the glass shows up broken.

That's pretty much what she said, she said they had to develop this process in steps because people are reporting used windshields as broke in transit, she says as evident from the mounting holes being obviously installed so they had to start receiving the windshields and inspecting before sending out new.

Again I'm getting gun shy that a glass windshield is too fragile...
I picked it up Monday and only opened the ends to inspect it, it looks good but I won't know until I try to install it tomorrow.

I ordered a glass windshield for the wife's ride about the same time your's came in broken...I was apprehensive I would suffer the same fate and had little faith in SuperATV, in this case, and UPS not ****ing it up. It came in fine though.

I've been running the same glass windshield on my Talon for 5 years. I've taken some decent hits to it and haven't broken it yet. Its so much better with the glare, and I dont have to worry about scrubbing the mud off and scratching it. Being able to have a wiper and washer is key.

Yall are making be feel a little better at least.
ITs getting a washer for sure, I still have to swap the front shocks for that and I've been busy as hell lately with other ****.

You have to swap the front shocks side to side to install their OEM washer bottle?

Thats weird. There is enough body clearance for the reservoir turned outward?
Pretty standard thing on the X3's, you do have to trim the plastic a little if you actually use all of your suspension. Lots of people flip them just because they think they look cooler with the resi's out too.

Mine are still in the stock position.

Yeah you have to trim the inner black portion around the shocks to clear.

I always thought people did it just to look cool, bit now that I actually have one I can see if you have any work to in that area, gussets etc. it would be well worth it to flip them once than to fight them for eternity.

Got the window installed. Didn't have much trouble other than not following directions which made it seem like I was short hardware and had some "too long" hardware that I promptly cut down :homer: to make it almost too short when I realized it.

There is no edge trim on the bottom which I did not like so I got some from work to slip on before installing.

I already knew I did not like the levers for the vents. They work fine but they are hidden behind this angle brace and will be nearly impossible when belted in at minimum will require some serious dexterity to latch one handed.
This seemed like a easy 3D print job.
First draft is just a 3" tongue at a 45* angle. Seems to work fine, I'm going to add a 45* chamfer to the sliding edge and use it a little to see if I need to modify them anymore.

I have the same issue, and plan to do the same thing.

Got the wiper from Tin Roof so I'll see how bad I can goof all that up this weekend.
Also got the tinted rear window from StarKnight (Chiinaa) on Amazon. They all have questionable reviews but for the price I don't think I care much as long as it will fit half ass.

StarKnight was the brand of plastic windshield I had. If I looked at it wrong it scratched and was a giant pos. Its probably fine as a back window.
