Dunkin’ Dodge revival

New to me phone, so I can take better pics.

Got the garage cleaned out somewhat and Dunkin Dodge uncovered.

Continued to put the Dana 60 together with my son. New wheel studs, bearings, brakes.

40” Nittos from my scout project may find its way over to the dodge.

Axle needs to move forward 2” roughly. Not looking for lift. I see Chevy 52s are a common swap, but add lift. Not sure what to do at this time.

Spent some time looking over the Carli rear springs I plan to use in the rear. They’re 3” wide 63” ish long. Hopefully they’re a good fit.

Did some measuring today. Going to swap the dodge 52” rear springs to the front, move the front hanger forward a few inches. Seems easy enough.

Ordered spring hangers, boomerang shackles, 3” wide bolt plates and perches from Barnes.

Who sells 3.5” mounting width tension shackles and mounts? Desolate does for fords, they would work, but they’re $700.

Slow progress is still progress.

Ordered some Superduty lowering spring hangers to work with the 3” width rear springs I picked up. Shackle hanger is bolted on.

Spent entirely too much time removing the old bushings from the rusty AF rear springs. Still only have one leaf done. It’s mocked up. Stock front hanger moved forward, rivet holes re-drilled. Front axle is moved forward about 3”.

Rear leaves mocked up. Superduty hangers will work out nicely.

I initially had them flipped over but had to set them up like this to get the ride height taller.

I always insert unless my phone doesn't let me then I do the attachment.

Good progress on the old truck, can't wait to see it come together.

EDIT: not to clog your thread but I can't remember did yo have plans for the axles out of the donor? I'm assuming 4.10 cad D60 front and D60 rear with the V8?

Thanks!

I still have the 4.10 CAD front. Rear is sold.

It’s had some rust repair work done. It’s pretty rough.

Well if you want to get rid of it shoot me a pic or two and a price and we can go from there. No harm in taking a look but it will be a bit before I have the money to buy here. I need to get my extra tires and wheels dismounted, mounted on other wheels and sold.

Small bits of progress.

Driver’s front leaf removed.

Drivers wheel hub and brakes assembled with longer wheel studs and new bearings.

Driver’s side of the rear frame is stripped, ready for new spring brackets.

We need to pull the fuel tank next. Probably going to swap to a ford tank behind the axle with an in tank fuel pump.

Small victories.

Air hammered the sleeves out of the one 52” spring.

Trying the press on this one.

Neither way was easy, but the press is not nearly as hard on the ears.
