After I retired, the wife and I wanted to upgrade our camper. We gave away our old 1998 Fleetwood 10W and we found a 2005 Arctic Fox 990 that needed some love, but I was able to get it for a song and dance.
We took it to our local RV shop and he re-did the "bedroom", resealed the whole camper, and checked everything out for us. I'm into this for a little under $20K. FWIW he wants me to bring it back to check his work and tighten, make sure that the seal job is staying put. Jeff stands behind his work, and I'll be taking it down for a checkup next week.
Anwho.... on to the photos.
Truck is a 2019 GMC Denali Dually.
Hitch height with the truck empty.
Stinger installed.
With the curt 6K distribution hitch on it. I have also run a 14K Distribution hitch on this setup with my last camper. This camper is a little too heavy to safely tow the big trailer that fits two rigs.
I built this "lift" to keep the camper rails off of the bed rails. I'm thinking about putting skateboard "deck tape" on it when I can get it to dry out. But, it does slide the camper in and out a little easier.
Drivers side empty.
Drivers side with camper in it.
Rear overhang. Note center of gravity (red arrow sticker) is behind the rear axle. You can also see the damage to this side under the LP gas on the tie down. PO had it in a OJ era F350 SRW. It at one point ripped the driver rear tie down out. He put a piece of pressure treated 2X6 there, anchored the tie down into the frame of the camper.
Passenger tail light. This side was damaged and the previous owner braced it. He was a shipwright and an electrical engineer by trade.
