2025 F-350/2026 Artic Fox Camper

**** a packrat!!!

These are way better in every way! We put more than 1300 pounds on them in work trucks. A pack rat is the Kia of toolboxes while Jobox is the Peterbuilt of toolboxes!

I’ve sold both for 25yrs. Weatherguard boxes generally get passed to another truck. JOBOX are done when the truck is.

JOBOX has some better features, but Weatherguard just hold up better

WTF are you talking about? I’ve had the same Jobox in 3 different trucks that each got hundred thousand oilfield miles. The slides/tracks are way better and last way longer holding more weight than a packrat will.

We have a scrap pile of packrats here at work that they got junked for various reasons. One is because the welds on their ****ty roller tracks break off and drop the droor. The studs for the rollers break off. Or my personal favorite. The latch broke so it couldn’t be opened so the mechanics borrow a big pry bar (since they can’t access their own) and bend the top of the box up so they can open the drawer without the latch bolt snagging its catch.

The packrats that are in my truck now are in their second truck with a combined 183,000 miles on them. One has the slides breaking off the drawer right now. I’ve have never had a Jobox do that to me. All of these ones have the slides and rollers broken.

Oh sure, quote me while I'm deleting the post

I dont give a **** either way. Till you spoke up I had never heard of the Jobox's.

I like the idea of them, and they are damn nice to work out of. Expecially if you are runnin around with way to much **** in a pickup.

Also I highly doubt that that fancy new dually the OP picked up is goona get flogged on. However somethin like a packrat or jobox would make a hell of a lot more sense than a big ol knack box crammed in the front of the bed where he cant get to it if he sticks his camper in there

Ok. You win.

I'll add that pack rats suck.

Thing is so big for 3 little slots that don't fit ****ing anything in them. Latch design sucks too. When I pulled it all apart to shorten it, i wasn't very impressed with the quality. My weather guard transfer tank is leaking again. I think it's the 3rd or 4th time, just leak right out of the middle of a flat area, now it's leaking at a weld.

My buddy really likes rim rock, they're made in norcal, but I'm not sure they've been around long enough to say if they'll last for 3 or 4 trucks, they started from some farmers who were tired of fixing other brands, so they mad thier own, then gotta bugged enough by other guys to make them one they started a company. but I'd bet money they're higher quality than weather garbage.

He has the same camper as cda (also made in the same area) and has talked about putting it on top of it. 100% would hold the wieght. And they need a bit of spacer to clear the cab of these newer trucks anyway.

Moral of the story here seems to be that if you're not engaging in copious amounts of oil field abuse and/or herding a bunch of ******ed ditch diggers around a pack rat is probably adequate but not serious overkill.

Not sure what you are implying.

His timing was perfect on quoting me though
Aren't you the king of having screenshots of random **** from years prior?

That dont look bad either. I'd want the drawers to be a bit deeper though.

That's one thing I noticed also, I can see how some would want deeper. He said they will make you anything you want. I thought 6' drawer with a small L tank built in wou be pretty sweet for still being able to put a camper on top and just slid back ~6" or whatever.

Personally, I like how low pro they are. My pack rat 9" tall but the drawers are still only 5.5" deep. They just loose a bunch of with with thier design. 1.5" on the bottom, 1" on the top, 2" on the side, 1" with the dividers.

Yall are missing the point. What he needs is something that fits in place of the rear seat.
Mine works out well. I should make something flat up for the rear seat to mount my Milwaukee packout to snap into.

A slide out drawer would be sweet for the backseat. The problem is the rear doors are in the way for it to slide out straight. There was a guy who made a curved one on IG.

Now that you mention it, the aluminum extra cab trucks rear doors open almost 180* so you could have a drawer back there.

My last work truck, extended cab long bed, I had a packrat where the back seat would go. The X cab doors will open all the way to the bed. That one mounted sideways inside the cab is the fastest I’ve had one of those fall apart. I reused all the other boxes in the truck and left that one in there to go to auction. I didn’t use it as much as I thought I would.

Some guys feel like it's a pain to open both doors to get back there. Which I get,but I still prefer them vs a huge crew cab for work.

I think for certain things it would be really handy. I'd almost want one like 18" deep for a dedicated work truck. But, idk, everyone's uses vary.

I can also see how it might take some getting used to parking with enough room to slide it out.

Honest question.. Are you going to do something with that thing? I'd part the thing out, enjoy not paying storage on it. and get on with your road trippin
I'll probably make a final decision this Fall whether to swap a replacement motor in it or not.

I still want to wheel, as well as travel.

Question re:
Military trailer not registered/no ***le/but has SF97 form(s).

Scam?

I don't know **** about something without a ***le.
When I bought my last military trailer it was through a surplus company/they did the paperwork.

Pursue or run away?
