What did you do for your ford today?

Bonus check from work hit the bank today. Thinking its time to fire some money at the 2005 F250 so I can go back to dailying that instead of the Expedition.

I have 5.13s, locker, and install kit for the front, and 5.13s for the back. Still need an install kit for the back, and keeping my eyes open for a 2011+ elocker rear to steal the locker out of.

I'm anxious about setting up gears for the first time. I'm a machinist so the precision aspect and the patience isn't an issue, still just anxious about it. Not having great work space doesn't help, and I don't want to take it to a friends garage incase it drags out for some unseen reason.

Replaced a front brake line on the 03 150. More work than it should have been, but it got done. Glad it let go at home in the driveway instead of cruising down the interstate.

More OVerlanding, I get it, it's fun. Leavitt Lake

Trying to get the AC in the 6.2 f250 dialed in. I just had everything under the hood replaced. As the compressor and condenser had tiny leaks. But the AC still will warm up if I'm idling. Is that a fan clutch? The AC guy did tell me I'm missing the deflectors on both sides of the radiator behind the grill. But I don't think that would affect air flow at idle, just when I'm cruising?

If it only gets hot sitting still then yeah you've got a fan/airflow problem.

Old (left, blown up ~1200W rms); new (right, 1500w RMS)

Otherwise I really haven't done **** in the garage.

I figured out my harmonic balancer is about 2 degrees off, not sure why yet. I remember it being perfect the last time I checked 2 years ago.

Edit: I do know why. Both the wheel and the balancer are 2 degrees off, but at least they're the same amount of off, must have been manufactured that way. What I don't know is why my ECU timing is so far off

But the bigger problem is my timing is like 6-8 degrees off, which is what I really gotta figure out.

I don’t think I made it worse, but I wish it looked better. I’m sure there’s only so much I can take off so I think I’ll stop here.

Smoothing out the raised ring.

Have you done anything yet? I also need to man up and do some gears.

kicks dirt No... Got a bad case of analysis paralysis on the rear diff. Likely leave the **** limited slip for now and try shimming it.

Went to hobo freight and bought a bearing puller. Sterling install kit still in the cart. If I gather all the **** together I'm more likely to start on it.

Got my 5/8 straight plug for the oil galley. Let's a bunch of oil by, added Teflon tape, still let's a bit by.

Probably doesn't matter, but went ahead and bought a flange bolt to cut down. For some reason the ones I bought while stuck at work were 5/16 instead of 5/8  oh well

Yup.
Mars Fab built them to take a beating
I haven't seen that before, but that's a pretty cool idea. Those in particular turned out well.

It would be a good way to gain tire clearance if you have tire-to-headlight interference like 2nd gen Dakotas always seem to have. I'm keeping that idea in my back pocket for future use...

Idk about that, but theres certainly enough room on that cutter to put an edge on it :flipoff2:

I’m sure that would’ve helped, just fafo ing here. Turns out the ring I was worried about doesn’t touch anything.

Missing a few parts from my “rebuild kit” :shaking:

Could have had that piece of **** back together by now.

I got the side baffles in. The AC ks still warming up while idling. At a idle the compressor is running 100% with the AC cranked. Putting my hand behind the condenser, it feels like quite a bit of heat is coming out of it, so I think it's definitely heat soaking.

Am I missing any baffles or shields?
These fan clutches are electronically controlled correct? How would I test it? 136k miles 2015 f250 6.2

Those push pins would indicate there used to be a rubber flap under there.
