What did you do for your ford today?

How much of a bitch is it to install the universal H-shape window gaskets if the glass is already on?

Part of me is tempted to wait for a few weeks of sun to cure it real good and then just fill the whole valley with the fancy window/gutter/flashing **** that lives in the middle ground between butyl tape and goo that never dries and windshield adhesive that turns into hard-ish rubber. I gotta buy some anyways because pressure washing it before paint indicates there's two voids in the sealant at the bottom of the windshield.

Lower the truck down until the tires are an inch or so off the floor and use a big pry bar or pipe to pry the bottom of the tire up. If you have movement, the ball joints are loose.

I heard Mevotech used to be good but then went to ****. 🤷‍♂️

edited my previous post, that was a dumb question. :homer::laughing:

Something isn't right.

But at least it doesn't appear to be rockers contacting valve covers. Going to give it 20 minutes to run, cool down, fluid change then start getting into other stuff. Haven't ever had the oil pressure that low

Low oil psi on hydraulic lifters makes that noise. I can’t tell from the video. How many psi is it making?
N of normal, which is pretty low. I'll need to through the mechanical gauge on there.

Video noise is terrible for picking up sound. I'm going to see what it's like after this first oil change and recheck valve adjustment. It's not getting much better and not getting worse with time.

Pre lubed for a couple minutes. Really just kind of confused why the oil pressure is as low as it seems to be:laughing:

Edit: it's got Quite the vibration as well

What position in fixed seats do you like? As in GM or Dodge seats instead? And are you a short dude?
I don't really know. All I know my obs 40/20/40 bench and our 2001 explorer don't make my legs sore. It's the butt height and angle adjustment I don't really know what to do with. I've tried a couple different angle adjustments that feel comfortable and are fine for local driving. But after driving a few hours my legs get sore.

More work on the horror show

Rust repair and filling in the gaps

Passenger side done good enough for a play truck. Have to do the same work on the drivers side still.

Inside between the 75 and 09 bits are filled in also. Seam sealer to hide the bird **** welds. I finally just took the heater box out since I melted the stupid thing and it was sooooooo much easier to work on it. Dumb, should have just done that to start.

Pondering how to fill this gap nicely. I think the plan is going to be to cut a ~1.5" section from the floor of a parts truck to use as a flange (plus attach the sill plate/door seal) then just a flat piece straight down to connect to the 09 floor pan.

PXL_20250727_191437129.jpg

Edit, neither parts truck had enough good metal to use as a filler piece, so fresh metal it is. The flange is 1 3/4 wide which is a little bit wider than the 75's sill plate. Forgot to grab an inside pic but it is just a flat piece to connect it all together. Other than some filler pieces in the back corner the passenger side is done. It started raining so packed it up for the day.

I didn't make it a flat piece across to the 09 floor so I still have a channel for the cab wiring to rest in.

Humdinger.

Oil through the passenger side, the side I've been checking regularly...not getting oil through the driver side rockers using the drill.

Wet

Dry

Now I get to figure out what the heck I did to block off oil for these poor souls

Guess I need to see what I can figure out between main #5 and rear of blok to the lifters

Best image, musical which plug did I leave out this time, hopefully

Edit: if I plug with my finger what appears to be the end of the run I get oil to the driver side rocker arms :rasta: well, easy enough

Draining the water...again

Edit: don't have a 5/8-18 anything, just course and extra fine. Oh well

Final edit:

5/8-18 plug with a nylon washer holds enough to easily get oil to N at low speed on the drill and to the middle of gauge without much effort. Oil seems to go everywhere now. Need to replace with something with a head and a copper washer, don't really think the nylon would last there

Went to start pulling truck apart and found that the thing is infested with black widows.

Ordered some bug bombs, going to cover it in tarps and fumigate the damn thing.

Bronco quit running on the freeway, get a tow home, start looking at it, realize I plugged the coil plug in bad and it had fallen out :homer:.
