What did you do for your ford today?

:flipoff2:
I choked down the 1/2” Allison at545 lines to whatever 1990 c6 had routed to the tiny cooler, hard to get fluid hot when only 100 hp is pushing it, even at 26k.
That's a lot more ridiculous than what we're talking about here. C6 and E4OD ran 5/16 forever. Only in the 4R100 did they up the size, with no other changes (initially, they added bigger coolers to some trucks)

Eh, the way i see it, its apart, hes replacing it all anyways, theres no reason to NOT go to 3/8ths when its this easy. It will do nothing but help.

I run a 40k btu cooler (biggest automotive style tru-cool makes)on my 460 truck and i can still get it hot pretty easily, especially towing in town.

If you dont care than big whoop, the stock stuff will work. But why not just use the better stuff thats available.

He already has the roll of 3/8 but not the expensive part of the job (the fittings) so easiest is probably to just compression union it down from 3/8 to 5/16 at the ends.

Im buying new fittings anyways, needed new tube regardless. That stuff doesn't count against the swap price as it all goes into the pile of things to fix random stuff anyways

Replaced the 20" Bro wheels with some Braptor takeoffs. Much better.

Edit; And that tire next to the tailgate was the spare O-riginal from the factory in 2014  . Now I've got 5 of the Braptor wheels and a spare that is brand new.

Drove it. Does that count?

Oh and some dork in a new chevy diesel I guess thought I wanted to race when I stood on it to let it eat for a second, ya know, blow the cobwebs out of it. Well, his fancy schmancy truck looked kinda dumb with a 46yr old truck pulling him till the 55 speed limit. He kept in it till probably 70 then slowed down while I was just cruising 55.

Threw some dollhair$ @mine!! 2 cans of 2x high gloss black...
2 cans of wd40....
Have the windows half rainx'd in pic.. Will finish once it's not boiling it away...
And a bunch of elbow grease! Starting knock9ng the dust off interior until wd40 rag quit doing it's thing.. also have front shocks in rear floor board. Might get diesel aftermarket heater is today as well

oddly excited to get the new marker lights. don't need to deal with the super glued and cracked ones anymore

and set the new bushings down so that I won't lose all the parts. Plan is tomorrow to spend actual time working on things.

gas tank need taken out, exhaust removed until I can get the trans x-member sorted.

the blue locktite wasn't enough to deal with the nylock nuts, tapped them with the welder to hold the studs in place. 1" is only long enough if you are using jamb nuts or bolts.

Picked up the rebuilt trans finally. He put it on his dyno and ran it thru the gears while checking line pressure. Pretty cool, I’d like to take a stab at rebuilding an automatic but not sure I’d end up wasting more money and time if I missed a defect and had to pull it out again.

Tried to start Betty, she was in the way, nothing but clicks. Pulled the doghouse and tappy tap tapped the starter, percussive maintenance saved the day.

While the doghouse was off, I noticed I need to change the driver side motor mount. Or maybe just replace the missing bolts, didn’t look that close.

Have you seen the older trucks bump side/dent side etc parked next to or behind a new super duty? Stock for stock the older trucks look to be the same size as the new ranger. It kind of ridiculous how much bigger the new trucks are.
Yeah, they fill up a standard parking spot, and fuggaboutit for a dually.

Too lazy to get a better picture but you get the idea. 78 is on 40’s, 2018 is on 35’s with the plow set-up (bigger springs? I don’t know).

**** just look at the size of the bed sides. That Dodge in the pic looks to be 50% taller/deeper.
No wonder I can't reach inside lol

My Dad's old truck hauling home my bumpside. Quite the size difference. The length difference of the doors alone is wild.

One of the best things Ive done with my '74 was to replace all the marker lights. Minimal money, and they A) Look way better B) Let way more light out C) When I fart next to them they dont turn to dust (having played the super glue game, its nice to be able to take them off and put them back on without worrying about them deconstructing themselves.

Yeah that's the best part, no more crumbling

Now it's got me shopping for headlights on account of the cracked glass and I saw one has a bit of water in it now  tempted to replace rather than drain. I don't mind the dull yellow soft glow of old headlights though. Can't see well enough at night anyways, stick to drive by brail :rasta:
