What did you do for your ford today?

Quiet as all terrains that size , 3,000 miles no change yet , Excursion has an lsd and usually the back tires wear out faster than fronts . 35-12.50-18 , actually about 33.75 on 9.5 wheels

I had nitto terrain grapplers prior to this set. They had no issues for years. The wheels are a pretty rare set of boyd Coddington super 8s that I had powder coated. Wildest thing is the threat in machined aluminum center caps.

I used it to pull out a loaded 28' enclosed that was sunk into the earth up to the frame .

I didn't even engage the lockouts, it didn't even struggle in low range .

It's old, white, beat and has occasional issues, we are a perfect match .

I love this truck .

I’ve gotten on it a few times in traffic and it got up and went plenty fast for me but this is day one of owning it. Probably won’t know how it pulls towing for awhile.
My kid said in their fleet they have always gotten the 6.2 and when the 2017 came out they felt and drove like a completely different engine. I have not driven one yet. But the old 6.2 was a lot like the 5.4. The red headed stepchild of the truck engines.
Nice truck.

There is a noticeable difference in pep, power acceleration etc in the 2017 up 6.2’s vs the 11 to 16’s. Also helps that the aluminum truck is almost 1000 pounds lighter than its steel bodied predecessor

Did the Zoodad mod on Larry using leftover screen from the fridge install. Straightened a couple hundred condenser fins beforehand, making this an hour job instead of 10min. Won't be the last time I do that.

All I need now is the "Sorry ladies, I'm taken" sticker, because once they see this, even my appearance won't slow 'em down.

Gave Betty an oil & filter change, headed to the Carolinas and back this weekend. Crawling around under her skirt found trans cooler line is near due to start pissing. I’ll pack some clamps, hose and a tubing cutter just in case.

P side manifold lost two studs well a stud and a bolt lol spun another in there and hoping it stays. The hole with the bolt was pretty ****ed. I expected it to not stay long just forget about that.

Also 2 p side motor mounts bolts are awol.

Still need to booger weld the d side bumper bracket. Build a shelf for the fridge. Something else I’m sure.

What is the zoodad mod?
It's named after a user on ford-trucks. He cut out the fiberglass panel in front of the air inlet snorkel to get cooler air. On top of what other users reported, KC Turbo showed positive results for IAT/EGT/boost on a modded 7.3. Most folks just make the cutout but a couple of users mentioned catching a bug or two so I sprung for some mesh from the metal pile, pinky in the air.

Thanks for the tip. I'll end up doing this and likely making a funnel to direct the air towards the filter a little better.
That's a sharp idea. There isn't a ton of room to work in there but one could get in there with a strip of tin and form it around the existing horn, and then use butyl/aluminum duct tape to make it all get along. Any of this beats the price of one of the aftermarket housings.

Had a cardboard box with some stuff in it that hit the glass when I hit the gas to get out of the way. Truck in front of me wasn't so lucky. Today I replaced the glass.

Dude, ditch those awful headlights for some 2004 versions. You'll thank me. Here they are on my 2000.

Oh I did a thing alright.

2014 Raptor, fully loaded, amp steps, bumpers with bro lights, skids, power tannau cover, HID lights, bun chiller/heated seats, sunroof, etc., 58,xxx miles, all service records and clean carfax. Only took me two flights, an uber and 570 miles of driving to get it home. Needs the shocks rebuilt and I've got some 17" wheels and tires on the way'ish, to replace the bro-20's. Got a hand calc'd 15.3 MPG coming home between 70-75, including some stop and go bull**** in the North part of the LA Basin. I've always wanted one and this one popped up, last of the V8's, (except the Raptor R), all the options I wanted and looks like it lived in a garage, which it will here too.

Built a bracket for an extra belt tensioner so I can omit the P/S belt completely if I want to. Without the extra pulley there isn't enough wrap with just one belt on the water pump pulley to keep the truck cool when driving unreasonably. I could have done just an idler but I had the automatic tensioner just sitting around so why not.
