Anyone have tips for putting a 3” radius in .125 plate?
My shop press is too small. I don’t mind tossing heat at it, it’s only for crush corners
18x24 maybe? I haven’t actually measured the length but a significant chunk will be removed for the wheel well archHow long is the plate?
Now there is an idea… I could even do that on the ground… using the corner of my seacan for the weight… could be a good job for the highlift….I made this little gizmo with stuff I already had in the garage, the large diameter pipe and the aluminum I bought from the rem. section of my local steel yard. Built it so I could repeat the parts or adjust as necessary but I only used it once. It is very basic and could be made different or simpler depending on what you already have. 10 gauge 6061 for the corner guards. Probably under $40 all said and done.

Like a steel Jerry Can? Or the under seat tank?I thought it was common practice to roll against a gas t tank for the early jeeps
Scribe a ring around the posts and score the ring with a circular saw before getting at it with the chain saw.
I went out yesterday to mark the other two poles. First I screwed two 2 by 6’s on top of the 2by’s that were there.you've got a seat for the other two. shimmy your ass out on the 2x and do the same thing. add another piece of scrap or two if you want to be less sketchy and more stable
i'd been imagining posts 100' away from any dock
Where is the draw bridge?
And in a crawl space, I’ve leveled more than one house with a water level! The other advantage to a water level is it doesn't have to be line of sight. I still use one regularly when I have to go around corners.
if you don't want to wait till dark. make a water level with some clear tubing. super simple and been around long before laser levels. just an option for day light

Id not be cutting anything until i needed to. Best bet to avoid the "o fawk i need this pole 8" taller".
Looks like he's got a pretty big water level already on site.if you don't want to wait till dark. make a water level with some clear tubing. super simple and been around long before laser levels. just an option for day light

Old friend stopped in today to shoot the ****.
He got to telling me about a nugget of advice he heard on a youtube video.
When you're working away and you're looking for a part or a wrench or something and you can't find it because you've in the middle of a huge mess, just stop working and start cleaning. 5 or 10 minutes later and you'll find what you're looking for and you'll have cleaned up a bit which helps...

Yep, pretty standard. Because as soon as you stand up that tool that you were looking for will fall off of your lap.
This is what I do

I bought a parts sami from a guy who wanted to keep the body. Halfway through disassembly, he stopped everything, made me put all the tools away, cleaned up, and MOPPED THE FLOORS. I was annoyed that it was 8:00, we weren't done, and this dude is cleaning his shop (man-cave). However, after we got done cutting this samurai up, the shop was still halfway clean. When you're working away and you're looking for a part or a wrench or something and you can't find it because you've in the middle of a huge mess, just stop working and start cleaning. 5 or 10 minutes later and you'll find what you're looking for and you'll have cleaned up a bit which helps...

There's also those guys where everything is an absolute mess, but at any moment they can walk over to some random pile and find exactly the part/tool they need and keep going. There's guys that work all day long, make huge messes, don't accomplish **** and they have no idea where the new parts are.
