Open carry, maybe not a good idea?

I told a guy in line at a checkout once I could remove his pistol, hit him with it all before he knew what was going on. He was 20 something with a 2-3 yr old girl, absolutely not aware and kept presenting his pistol out in the wide open
But you didn't, so there's that :flipoff2:

I don't give a **** if you are carrying or not, I can absolutely stab you once before you know what's going on. That's the silly thing about life, doesn't matter what you do, you aren't always 100% focused on every potential threat

And I had no desire to do it but the scene was just so stupid I couldn't keep my mouth shut.

I personally think its stupid but I'm all for you doing you

I've had people say that to me, same thing. I'd probably stab them before they could get my pistol presented

At the end of the day, it's whatever. Carry or don't is just depending on how the day is going

Open carry is defiantly not the route to go IMHO, I'll stick with concealed.

Lotta guys have died arguing with their shirt, or trying get a gun out of a zippered bag. Conceal is far higher risk over some one taking your own gun outta your holster.

Hopefully he listened to you and got better about it

Or if you want to buy time and really upset all the Fudds, open carry without a round in the chamber  buys you time and gets your reactions down closer to concealed times :flipoff2:

After many many years of concealing because of comi state regs. I’ll open carry now 9/10 days. Feels like freedom. My leather holsters are all so tight to me one would have to get a really lucky yank with the angle just right to get it.

I tried wearing one of my competition holsters the other day.. my wife gives me the nope. You’re not going to lunch with a race gun on your hip. So I switch and we get the restaurant and a guy next to us had the same competition holster on she told me I couldn’t wear! “See hun, it’s fine!”

What’s so defiant about it? :flipoff2:
Did you quote the wrong post? cause you need to point out where I said that.

Also I don't give a **** how you carry, I myself wouldn't open carry, that is all.

ETA, I see I missed a spelling error, like you didn't know what I meant, but okay carry on.

Then you should practice more. Tracked with a shot clock, Im less than a second slower from concealed (taco holster on the hip) vs open (serpa) in a tshirt. Gets a little slower with heavier gear on but not much. But Ive practiced with my hand sliding up my side, thumb extended pointed up to clear my shirt/and jacket, fingers curved to grab my gun. I use a IWB taco holster for that reason, nothing for my clothes to snag on, fingers go right to the grip, nobody knows its on me. I dont wear mine for show and tell.

The only people I ever see open carrying are guys with a complex. Like the guy yesterday in Walmart also wearing a Tshirt with a picture of a gun and iPac written on it. Gotta let the world know youre a tactical badass.

Or, just get to the trigger and give you a new leg hole

Open carry can be fine, not paying attention to your surroundings is the problem. Thousands of people open carry every day without issue.
You have to realize that if you open carry, you will draw attention to yourself. Some people want that.
Cops open carry and this happens to them on occasion as well. Are you suggesting that they should conceal carry?

So you were in line at checkout and you just tapped some random stranger on the shoulder to tell him that?

Curious...

I came from Illinois, so the whole open carry was a very bizarre Concept to me, and concealed carry wasn't allowed in Illinois at the time either. But I remember this story.

About 20 yrs ago in vegas...guy walking in a semi ****ty area was open carrying..... 2 guys pass him... They turn around. Point a gun at the back of his head and took his pistol.

What would you do?

Open carry… concealed carry…. I am for comfortable carry …. Whatever that looks like.

And funny thing about a deterrent, you can’t know what didn’t happen that could have.

And you got no idea what crime that open carry may have deterred.
