Holey ****. I love this thing. Just picked one up yesterday. It's been years since my last purchase so maybe this isn't new to some of you but damn. My old eyeballs need all the help they can get. :smokin:

I highly recommend checking one out.

I have the original Digital Infinity before they did the ClearLight thing....it's one heck of a hood but a bit on the heavy side.

I bought it for dirt cheap back in the day, with Miller's silly pricing now (double what I had paid), I would have a hard time justifying a lot of their stuff now.

Lincoln 2450 is decent. Similar lense I think plus an LED light.

I've even taped a flashlight to the stinger before.

The rag thing that attaches to the back and goes over your head helps a ton too with sunlight or even shop lights reflecting. I was using a shop rag for a while till it caught on fire and about melted my hoodie to my back too.

Maybe that will work. The neck rag thing i was talking about.

Keeps from burning head and neck too.

I say that every time I put a new clear lens in the hood. Maybe I should do it more often.:flipoff2:

I think most new hoods are pretty awesome. Some how they found a soft plastic that weighs nothing to make them out of.

I like Optrel hoods.
Not my first rodeo.on the cleaning.

I've never seen one this clear. The problem with helmets like speedglas and optrel it finding the $$ clear protection ****.

Right? You really want to be impressed? Change the inner lens as well:laughing:
I changed both lenses in mine, then promptly shut my hood in the door of my truck.

I've been welding with vertical cracks in my outer lense for a few months now.

Clear as **** between the cracks, though. :homer:

glad its not just me. I ****ing hate it. Spent good money trying and its ****.
What's wrong with it?

The Amazon special I have it fine, just the headgear is hot trash.

You cant see **** outtah it 2/3's the time. It's like if one of the sensors gets partially blocked by the workpiece, or your arm, or the torch or any ****ing thing it just blacks out and goes to full dark. If the arc isn't 100% visible 100% of the time, its worthless. :flipoff:

The head gear is a little strange. It has no friction and it's retained by a detent. I didn't like it at first but I'm finding it don't drift down which is cool. It falls fast with a healthy nod then bounces. I'm warming up to it.

Have you turned down the sensitivity?

Wait, you can replace the lens? I just use it till it breaks and go buy another one at HF.

I would like a good hood one of these days though. Might be worth giving it a shot.

Pop into a store and poke your head into one. That's how I got roped.

Luckily I'm not out anything, because the company buys all of our tools. Some other guys have had the same issues too. It just stops working after 1 or 2 uses and it won't darken anymore even with a new battery

The one I have, the batteries always dead. The consumables soak up smoke and become not clear way to fast. Head gear sucks.

I had a Jackson that I loved but I let a 40” tire on a wheel fall on it and explode it. Need to replace it with something better than Lincoln or Harbor Fail.

The headgear does suck on the lincolns. The battery eating wouldnt be so bad if they didnt make it such a pain the change them.
