Anybody have any luck with any sort of open end ratcheting wrench? I’d like a 3/4 for the tensioning bolt on some alternators.

I've heard some people who like the snap on speed wrenches..

I've also used a ratcheting flare wrench for similar applications and it worked okay enough that I would buy a set for the right price.

purchased one because I needed to to replace steering clutched in a dozer
one is jammed and will not ratchet anymore and I can not figure out how to take it apart. I use it like a normal wrench now hoping it will break free
got another one and finished the job.

I wanted to like them, but I am not sold

remember if it doesn't have the clicky lever to change directions you can get yourself stuck:grinpimp:

I've had a set of those in SAE for over 25 years. The 7/16, 1/2, and 9/16 get used regularly and have held up fine. The set only goes up to 5/8 and don't remember ever seeing a 3/4 version.

Pic stolen off of ebay for reference:

Srx24 is the 3/4 I believe. They don't make them in sae currently but they do make a metric set and a 19 is usually close enough.
