Anyone know what's inside the LS3 DBW throttle body?

Specifically, what's inside the round thing sticking out the side?

Does whatever is in it go all the way to the end of the cover?

Does anyone have an exploded view of one of these things? I'm not having any luck finding one.

It fasteners for it are those torx or allen head screws with the little tit sticking up in the center. which I don't happen to have right now.

It's the motor. And no you can't shorten it.

Get a truck TB if you want a narrower (but taller) footprint.

Those are "security" torx or stars if you ever want a set, that's what to look for.

you can take a punch and break off the little security nipples then use a regular torx/hex/whatever bit it is

unscrew slowly, it'll be clear if it's spring loaded or not. no idea whats inside

I don't have the need to even think about having a look anymore.
Was having an issue where a idler pulley was rubbing on it. Don't have that issue now.
