    Can I direct-wire an up/down switch for the rear window of my '94 Bronco; bypassing the existing wiring?

    Yes, run new wire to the pos. Side dash switch,to motor, from the dash switch.
    or just rewire the whole thing from battery thru switch to motor

      Whatever you do don't put a fuse inline. They can fail, leaving the window inoperative.

        What happens if the fuse is in an easy-to-get-to place?

        I thought fuses had a purpose?

          Yes but make sure you use a fuse and big enough wiring and switch so you don't melt it down. If it was mine I would see if there is a ten gauge hot wire back there and use a relay to switch it to your window motor.

            You must have 1 of these in any circuit!

            Each needs to be rated at the amperage of the device it protects.
            or you could just let er burn down...

                i think that circuit is polarity reversing or something like that. you need do some reading on fullsize bronco and the other sites
