Anyone have any input on the Yukon Zip lockers? Arent the essentially a copy of the earlier ARB's? Looking at installing one in my Sterling 10.5 that I'm about to build. 0 personal experience with any selectable lockers, always ran spools on both ends or spool front/detroit rear. Appreciate any input.

I have them front and rear on my jeep. Dana 60 front and 10.5 rear. They seem strong, and work well.

I have a comp D60 in the front of my buggy for a few years. It's been fine, broke a few front end parts and it held up.

However I had issues with one which was apparently redesigned, it was warrantied out and the new one was flawless. I've heard people saying the comp version was discontinued recently though and it was only ever made for a D60 IIRC.

Exact combo I am going to be running, Im going to hold off on the front selectable and run the spool I have for now though until I know the shafts will hold up. I'm using a 99-04 SD 60, going to see how chromo 30 spline do for me. JK on 40's so we will see. Once i either upgrade to 35 spline stubs, or prove the 30 spline ones hold up then I'll toss a selectable in.

I bought a scratch and dent Dana 44 off their website. Installed it and evidently it was a return because the air passage wasn’t drilled all the way through. So it wouldn’t lock. Since that they now have a fixture to put air to them and make sure they work.

Pulled it apart drilled it works great. Friends that have them seem to work flawlessly.

i have the competition version in my front dana 60. We had a cage failure, but other then that it works perfect.

Its a race rig but when i have to start all over i think i just put a spool in the front and air locker in the rear.

Just like you I've run Detroit's and spool's and then went to an ARB.

I didn't care for the selectable option.

The locker was fine and worked I just didn't care for the option or the forgetting to option.

I went back to a Detroit.

I noticed they discontinued them :(

Any idea what all needs to be changed internally for it to operate like a comp? Seems like any front application with selectable hubs, and any trailerd rig should operate this way. Even a rig that gets driven on the street, I'd rather have it operate this way. The only possible problem I could see would be if an airline did fail at the wrong time, you could end up with a crash lock situation.

The whole side of the case and some internals have to change. I swapped my comp to a non comp in my 4500 car. I had it off 95% of he time.
