So much this. The streaming stuff (netlax, amazoon, etc) have that stuff turned up so much that the show options end up super niche and never change. Watch one show and all your options are just like that, so you pick another one and down the rabbit hole you go. "We refine your options based on your viewing history. It is a feature!" No, it sucks. And most have no way to turn it off or reset to factory.
If you dump your google history, it resets youboob to factory. But you also lose logins and a bunch of other stuff. I really dont understand why they dont allow you to turn that crap on and off. It wouldnt change the ads, no matter what you get ads for crap you dont care about. What it does do is start limiting my viewing as you get to the point that it only gives you the same stuff every time you turn it on, so you lose interest and either find another channel or just turn it off. Seems self defeating for a video service.
