I'm looking at putting a set of these in 35x12.5r17 on my Samurai.

Our terrain is 50/50 rocks and mud, and snow wheeling during the winter. I put probably 1500 road miles on every year. Not a daily, but it's a fun cruiser when the weather is nice.

Talk me into/out of them.

I currently have Wrangler MTR w/ Kevlar and they work well on the street but I'm not impressed off road. I'm used to Boggers though.

I wheel with a guy that has them, the only feedback I have is the tread pattern looks like dicks.:flipoff2: they dont seems to be awesome or horrible.

If they legit leave dick stamps in the dirt, they won't fly around my wheeling group. :barf:

Have you priced them? When I was looking at all the different 40s, they were like $750 ea, vs everything else being $400-500.

I've found them anywhere between $350 - 400 a tire, which seems to be about what other tires in this size cost. I really want Cooper STT Pros but they are a lot more.

I like my procomps. Work great in the SE terrain and are nice on the road. Added bonus is no dick tread.

I didn't know better, I'm used to 15s.

I haven't found anything for $200 or less though. :( Nothing that is a name brand at least.

Ya, i dont know, I've had really good luck with the middle of the road brands like Falken, kenda and even milestar. When you can buy 2 set of tires for less than a set of name brand tires, it's tough to justify. I've also had name brand tires not be that great.

I have a set on my JK and have been very happy with them as a decent all around tire. One of the things that impressed me and gave me reason to buy them was how well they did in sand, even though they have a pretty square corner. I can't remember what I paid but it was in the $400's last fall.

Best price I found was Walmart.

Cooper evolution mt, pretty soft. Got a whole set for 1k installed and balanced.

How do those Milestars do in the mud?

I don't deal with mud much, never enough to get stuck in. They seem to be as good as any other radial MT. I'm sure they would benefit from some grooving.

I can see how you would want to go with the geos if mud was a big factor. I'm not saying they're bad, but are they twice as good as other decent mt's?

I hear ya on the price end of it dude, I about shit when I saw what even the cheap Chinese tires go for in a 17" wheel.

Maybe I'll just wait and see if my buddy that got me the beadlocks comes across a set of blem tires or something. The beadlocks I got from him had a brand new set of 35" Patagonias mounted on them, but he bought the tires for his daughter. They charged him $1100 for the 5 KMC wheels and 5 tires.:smokin:

You running the dick print yokos or just regular mt's? It's wierd to me that they released 2 different mt's at the same time.

These look like an updated krawler... too bad on the phallic tracks left. They're on my short list to try but I'm more concerned with rubber compound for east coast rocks. Also with the cost of tires now, gun shy on being a guinea pig so get them and report back!

I'd be looking for a C load range tire. The 35x12.5r17 E load range tires are extremely heavy and stiff aka you're going to hate them on a samurai.

I was digging around potential street/trail SxS tires for my sami, and I noticed that Kanati started making a 35x9.5/17 mongrel m/t golf cart tire w/ a square profile. Initially found them for sale on ebay, but they look like a legit offering: Mongrel SQ - GBC, ATV & UTV Tires

Not exactly cheap, especially for a SxS tire.

Might be too narrow for whatever wheels ya got, tho.

That's for a pair, but still not cheap. I read lots of negative stuff about them, which is funny because a lot of guys like the truck version.

I haven't really read or seen much about them yet, so yeah, like you say, that is surprising considering the truck versions seem like a decent tire. Not much else out there in the SxS market for 17s.
