This weekend I plan on getting the front body put back together. The header panel was destroyed and the headlights/ turn signals were junk.
I am looking for stock turn signals and grille if anyone has one. Also I also deleted the AC and got the smaller power steering pulley for west Texas offroad

Deleted AC, wtf is wrong with you?! JK, I never ran the AC in the JK when I had it too. Too many days with the top off. I followed your thread over at JKO. Glad you are making your way over here to give us the goods.

Didn't you have a street sign for your roof at one point?

The sign is from my old job. They would get these huge 4'x8' aluminum signs made up with a sticker of what ever job they were working on.

Glad you made it over here.

You have a white board...........................I need to get one of those. Might cut down on the number of circles I do in the shop.

yeah its the best way to keep track of shit. I even tied the marker to the wall.

That's a good idea, cause I could see myself filling up the whiteboard, then realizing I'm holding a sharpie.

Working on cleaning the wiring up front but got side tracked with cutting crap off the frame and making some small gussets. Having an iron work at work made it quick. I will probably burn those in and the back of the coilover bucket tomorrow.

Its was a daily driver when I was young and dumb. I bought it used in like 2010 and ran it on 285/75r16 recaps, I beat the fuck out of this thing. In like 2014 I started to buy a bunch of parts (axles, heims, dom, coilovers...ect) because pirate4x4 said you had to have tons and 40s to be cool. Then in 2016, a friend and I decided chopping the fuck out of it was a great idea. Here I am now with a half finished jeep that moves under its own power but needs finished. I am now working on exotic/expensive/track cars and have full range of the shop during the weekends.
My boss only has like 3 rules
1) if you break it, you replace it
2) don't do any cutting or welding when we have cars in the shop
3) don't burn the place down

Not burning the place down is probably a good idea. I'd hate to have to buy all those cars in the pics. Plus, you end up feeling bad for a couple days and the boss can always say, "Ya, well, you burned the shop to the ground". That kinda wins all arguments.

So nothing really went right for me this weekend. I was hoping to be able to work on it tomorrow but the girlfriend has plans already.

The mess all started with those stupid coil bucket mounts that are welded to the frame.
Ran out of sawzall blades and got our 15amp sawzall hot enough I couldn't hold it without gloves.
So the first time I went to lowes today was for this blade and some cheaper ones. I do have to say it held up a lot better than I thought it would.

Once what was left of those buckets got cut off, I was ready to do some welding.
Before even checking for wire and bottle pressure; I cleaned my bosses welding cart because I was sick of untying cords every time I used it.
It looked way worse than this.
All the grounds go to that big copper pipe off the left side. Then you only need one ground clamp for all three machines.
The tig torch is on the right side hanging on the bottle.
The mig and plasma is on the right side.

Right after I tacked the gussets in, I ran out of mig wire and gas. I am not good enough yet with tig so I didn't want to open that can of worms.

When I found out I was out of wire and gas, I started to dig into some wiring and decided to pull the new header panel out of the box.. sure enough it got dents in it and I have had it for at least a month. Hopefully rockauto will hook a brother up with a new one.

I figured I should just throw in the headlights so I can lay the factory harness out and start trimming some of the bullshit out.
yeah well fuck me.
The newer headlights I bought off facebook market place are missing the bezel and bracket.
No big deal, I will just use the ones off the old headlights.
Yeah, well I threw one of the head lights out already.

Fuck it, I am going to drink. Happy 4th

That sure sucks. Now I don't feel so bad though. Today I broke out the HF tube roller, brand new..................................it worked for a bout 20 mins before the shaft pushed the set screws right out of the drive roller......................cause everything is made out of butter. I just walked right back out of the shop, done for the day.

Looking as far back as I can I found this winner.
Rough County bumper cut caps and harbor freight lights on the pillars.
Don't forget the Project-JK.com sticker

And he ain't fired it up yet. :lmao:

The real reason I cant do anything this weekend is because family issues in new jersey.
So I am leaving with a trailer at 330ish to pick up a running WJ at my parents house (the wj isnt the family issue) and to deal with family Bullshit.
My day started at 6am and probably wont end till about midnight.

This is my DD and probably shouldn't be towing anything but whatever the WJ and trailer is pretty light.

Its a 2019 ZR2 2.8 diesel.
Its towing capatcy is only 5000LBS :lmao:

My redneck ram kit showed up today. I got a box from them instead of tapping my own because my box needed rebuilt anyway.

Friday and Saturday the girlfriend works :homer:
If I can get the old box off and get the front end buttoned back up; it will be one step forward or exactly where I wanted to be 2 weeks ago.

If you ever have a pump or box failure.. hell, even if you are installing a hydro assist, Just buy a new one.

O and my WTOR kit is done and steers exactly how I wanted it to. Now I just need to route all the lines the way I want.
