I'll be short here.

2019 f150. Trans shit the bed which I found is very common. Truck sat at the dealership for 2 months before they called me today to say it's fixed under warranty BUT on the 3rd test drive, the CEL came on. It's the fuel tank pressure sensor throwing the code. This is not under warranty and will cost $850 to fix.

My question, because it sat for 2 months, could that be a reason for this sensor to fail? Should I throw a fit or no?

Don't let them fix it and go get your truck. Clear the codes yourself and drive it to see if the CEL comes back at all or how quickly if it does. FTPS code isn't going to keep the truck from doing truck stuff.

They say what the failure mode was?

Just curious. I know the 6 speeds had problematic thermal bypass valves that would trash the trans if not caught early enough. Gives funky symptoms when it starts overheating. Never played with a 10 speed.

The absolute fuck?

Sounds like a dodge ecodiesel radiator situation. Id get ahead of it now and get rid of that mother fucker today.

And replace it with what?

If he wanted something that is tried & true he’d be driving a 20 year old truck, (and those ate transmissions too),

This is what advancement looks like, apparently.

When I first met my wife I was being a nice guy trying to help her fix her cel on her 2015. It ended up being that vapor sensor on top of the fuel tank. I was re thinking why I was being so nice to some random new woman I met while I was under her truck. To make it easy just go ahead and pull the driveshaft out. I tried doing it with it still in and finally gave in and pulled the driveshaft then it was easy.

A 2000 super duty with the 7.3 has the same basic thing.
The radiator or the fuel thingy that kills the transmission?

The rad system has been used for decades on all makes of vehicles, in every country, dodge/mfg just managed to fuck those particular ones up.
The issue was how it was handled with the customers.

I couldnt tell you anymore, seems to be most everything is a disasterous pos after 2y.

You didn't catch wind of it the first dozen times hie bitched about it?

Ive been seeing every bitch about the trans in all the ford trucks i will never own so i hadnt paid attention to the cause.

.
The thing that we have been bypassing for 25 years that may have killed his transmission

What state are you in? I'd think this would be covered under the separate emissions warranty

The 4R100 is a pressure bypass. It’s only supposed to flow fluid through the bypass when the cooling loop is severely restricted.
True but they stick and kill transmissions.
