It's to comply with EU privacy bullshit. Nothing has really changed with cookies, but all these sites have to put a disclaimer now. Most this invasive new bullshit has to do with complying with EU laws. Same reason you constantly get Terms of Service emails now.

its not complying with the EU, its more aligning with it. those messages are country specific.

This shit has been going on this whole time. Now they actually have to tell you what is happening with the information they're mining from your computer and you then have to "approve" it.

Yea thank the EU and Commiefornia for that. I'm sure other states will follow. It's literally impossible to get around it and doesn't just apply to websites. Some of it's so asinine I have no idea how'd they'd every really control it. The only exception is for 'purely personal or household activity' ... so stuff INSIDE your house for ONLY YOU to use. :homer:

Speaking about that jargin on IBB:
It's on here because the site is available worldwide and the self adjusting privacy policy I pay for on here covers every base possible.

I pay for a subscription service at ipstack.com that helps identify where the user's IP address is geographically to determine if that notice needs to be agreed to. The only reason you should see it is if there is an issue with the service or it can't tell where your IP is. I'm only at 35% usage for the year so it's not a subscription issue.

I do not and will never sell your info. It is shared with Google to track site usage and, if you see ads, put ads on the site relative to you. This is nothing unique to IBB it's done on damn near every site you visit.

If you have any other question about how IBB handels any of this I'd be happy to share ...

... if your super bored and want to read about Cali's or the EU's laws about all this you can google 'California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA)' or 'General Data Protection Regulation'

Okay that makes sense, I do not share my location, so I get the default messages. Austin I figured you are not sharing info but I just wandering what was up.
