Two separate questions -

1. Tuff shed or other assembled installed shed - worth the money? Looks like a bunch of 2x4s and plywooe, but even garagejournal guys say its more efricient to just buy one vs DIY

2. Steel carports, 20x30ish size, there is Arrow, United Carport, either come out to like 5k for 10ft tall with covered sides. Any better option? What am I looking at to have it installed?

Need a small shee, and shade, but limited on time. Dont want to drop thousands to say DOH later.

Thanks bros.

I'm thinking anything prebuilt is going to be shit. Shit materials assembled by the lowest bidder. Maybe three years ago it was better, but right now I'm at the point if there is something in stock that "looks good", I question why.

I had a Tuffshed put up about 15 years ago. Very well made, good materials, conscientious crew. At that time, it was only slightly more than the cost in materials, so no brainer. My son needs one for his house and I poked around on pricing. In my area, a simple 10x12 with a single door is almost 5000. Even at elevated prices, DIY is a large enough price difference to do it ourselves.

we got the steel carport for the RV, got then a little short height wise
placed them on ecology blocks bolted down with roto hammer
space the blocks with a stagger so you can still walk through the side if you want

don't have to worry about winds
and if the country comes poking around it 'isn't permanent'

The majority of the twats on GJ dont build their own shit anymore. Most of the talent has been replaced with the "write a check and look what I built" crowd. Go to Lowes or HD.com and price out the materials cost for your area. Since you cant seem to figure out the materials needed and cost using their tools and are retarded enough to use the word bros you should probably should just write a check.

I have bought 4 of these at auction here in Kentucky. Have put one up. Simple bolt together. They where a lot lower priced.

Agree. I used to spend a lot of time on there, but not for the past few years.

For pricing out, don't forget the other lumber suppliers that aren't big box stores. 86 lumber in my region is where I'd go first.

Friend of mine has one of those, fully enclosed on a slab with in floor heat and he loves it. Says it's the best bang for your buck.

This is one of the ones I looked at

How long did it take you to put together? Would you recommend it for the $$ it costs regularly?

That link is in Canada, might be more ordering from there. They are listed at Richie bros, Iron Planet, and other auction sites. I would look around . The two 20x30 one with full sides and other open where 7300 total here in Ky. Bought from a sort of local auction co.
It took son in law a couple of hours to get frame up and level it somewhat. roof panels he has been slower at. He says the self tappers it comes with are soft, bought better at lowes. All the bolts save for seven are same length, longer are for ridge.
