Wooden driveway gate vs vinyl?

Are white vinyl gates tacky? My neighborhood is big on them for gates and fences, and I need to change them (bigger opening, plus add a gate on another side). Currently mine are white vinyl as well. I cant say I hate it, but was looking into wood.

Looking for opinions.

We do them out of aluminum with wood grain finish. Have another aluminum I use that is textured with wood.

Vinyl is the ugliest product to use for fence and gates.

One thing to keep in mind is that vinyl loves to crack on impact, especially when it's cold and when it starts to get some age on it. Ever seen a vinyl siding clad house on a golf course? Shit looks like a farmhouse in Gettysburg in July 1863.

I'm a no go on shitty white vinyl., but they do make that shit that has a woodgrain finish if you really have to do it.

The bottom of white vinyl is never gonna stay clean either. If you want white vinyl you better be willing to pressure wash it on the regular to keep it looking decent.
