Wood floor guys. Need some help with a stain on the floor

Friend of mine bought his own place and is moving out of his apt. When he started moving some of the plants he noticed that one was leaking and had a big wet spot. He let it dry and this is what it looks like now. I don't think there is anything that can be done other than the apt complex sanding the floor and he's gonna get dinged for damages. Is there anything that can be done for something like this in a floor?

That’s water damage/rot more than a stain. Easy to stain stuff darker, harder to bleach and stain it lighter

Sand the spot and try to blend stain to match the area...it will never be perfect but might be close enough to not be picked up on depending on light in the room.

No, that's not going to come out. It'll show through any kind of lighter stain. Ebony may hide it.
That's a patch in new wood repair.

Plus it's cupped pretty bad. He fucked up.
