Some friends and family are planning a sxs trip from Iowa down to Windrock in late March. I've only seen a few videos of the place. We reserved a few cabins already.

What's some trail recommendations, do's and don'ts, anything i should be prepared for, that sorta shit. Half the crowd will only want to do 2wd gayness. The other half are 33-37s and ok with full yardsales. We've got 3 days of riding and a 8hrs drive down. Still pretty new to traveling out of state to parks.

Pic for attention. I'm not in charge of planning but don't want to drive 8 hrs for country roads lol.

I live about an hour away from it, there's something there for everyone. I think it's like 70,000 acres, plenty of riding to do. You won't be disappointed.

Trail 15, it can be your first one, since it's like right off the side of the blacktop after you start up the hill. It's short, and a good shakedown.
Trail 39 is a classic. Trail 22 is a blue, but it's got some challenge to it, and I could see them re-classifying it. It literally begins just past the entrance, and is a little longer. Would also be a good place to start, and is pretty scenic. There's also some tough double blacks that sprout off it. Honestly, as has been said, place is huge, and fun for all types of vehicles.

March will be wet which changes things. We had a group of maybe 10 RZR behind us on 39 in early May. It was raining and had rained for a few days. Every rzr broke multiple times.... we had a couple of guys show up late and ended up behind them. They didnt get back to camp until around midnight, so alllllll day behind broken rzr's on one trail. :barf:

our group was mostly sticky 40-43's and we all had to winch multiple times.

hit 15 and little mule right off the trailer, that will weed out the group.

I would say tte whole group could run a moderate trail first then decide who goes to the harder or easier stuff.

I’ve been going there since about 2006 and have never had trip that I would consider dry

It’s awesome. It’s huge. You need to separate your group into one easy group and one hard group and expect to see each other at camp that night or the following morning

Yeah....you won't run out of things to ride there.

There's anything you want but my suggestion is go north and explore. Take at least one day to ride the north side of the park and at least part of another day to ride 75 waldens ridge. Its going to push you pretty hard if your crew likes easy stuff. Make sure you go to the flats, radar base, panter rock overlook, and the huge overlook at the end of the main north side gravel past the radar base. All of those will be on the map.

The 2 older kids and I did Waldens Ridge, Cadillac Hill, trail 15 and some other stuff last weekend. It was another great time.

Walden's Ridge was terrifying knowing death was 4 feet away. The wife would not have approved.

Some more photos and video.

That was a fun trip! Driest I've ever seen it there.

I took the bypass the last time I was up there. Snow on the ground made it extra not worth it to me.

I figure I'll give the main group a day to lead and figure out how gay they are going to be. I haven't rode with half the group but I know 2 of the ones and they throw a fit over rock chips and gravel. One of the fucktards is bringing a crew cab farm ranger for reference. Pretty sure I'll be sick of his shit immediately.

Ive got xt400s on the talon now but debating on ordering a set of either Zillas or obor Rocscrapers for the trip. They suck for what we have hear but we dont get much actual rock faces.
