Will air bumps help my application?

How about Deavers for ride and travel, then some auxillary airbags for towing capacity?

The bags could either be on a floating mount that only contacts the axle at maybe 2" of droop, or even have the bags on mounts that can be removed easily with bolts or QD pins.

I have custom long travel bags on my other truck that is used for 95% of towing and hauling. Not wanting to put bags on this truck.

Any info on spring selection apprechaited.

Can't get Deaver on phone but sent email....

are you actually going to wheel the thing at all?

id think about that question and then consider spring under, tension shackle with an air bag setup like this.

This is freaking sweet and a better implementation of what I was trying to say earlier.

Without a secondary load-bearing spring the suspension is either going to work well offroad, or work well towing, but not both.

Airbags with some type of disconnect or removable mount yields the best of both worlds.

Yes but no racing and not going to beat the shit out of it in the rocks.
Goal is to improve ride at all speeds. Hunting, camping, driven to/from trails. All purpose truck.
Thinking a decent spring pack even spring over should make a noticeable improvement. Can do whatever with rear hanger to make it all work.

Moving forward with suspension improvements.
Spent a few months trying to work with Deaver. They did a design, lost it, don't call/email back and I eventually gave up. :flipoff2:

Alcan spring was responsive, helpful and designed a custom pack for me. Then they actually built and shipped them. :smokin:
I went with +7" of arch to accommodate shackle flip back to tension and removal of 3" block.

Buying DFX files and cut my own hangers and shackles on my new plasma table.

The full travel kit appears to uses short travel bags, and for only $1700. I get that disconnected, they impose no limitation. But when in use they limit travel to the bag limit.

I used these bags, 9.7" travel, custom brackets.
I just looked at the Full Travel pictures, but didn't read their info - I think you're missing the point. If the concept is the same as the Daystar cradles, the bags are never connected at axle side. They will never limit down travel.

Well go back and read :flipoff2:
The removable block secures the bottom of the bag to axle, limiting travel to bag limit. Not like Daystar cradles.

Mostly finished un-fucking the rear suspension. Need to move axle forward to center tire at full stuff.

mock up no block. U-bolts loose so shackle is flopped down and pack separated a bit.

After torque. Provisions for 4 shackle locations in 1" increments.

Spring eye went up 9". Ordered Alcans with 7" of additional arc planning to use a 1" block to allow adjustability while raising ride height 1". Needed a 2" to be level with full tank.

Front sway bar is last step.
