What's new

Wife bought an air fryer

Both of you need one, trust me!

The wife made me home made 5 Guys style cajun fries last night in the air fryer. You really cant tell the difference between air fried or deep fried if done right. They also make frozen treats like wings, potato skins and mozzarella sticks taste restaurant style instead of soggy and gross like ovens do to that type of stuff.

Sold. I need one now.

The glass door toaster oven types (like the one I posted above) are easy to clean so far. Just had to wipe it down. It's small enough to put it away somewhere but less convenient that way. It fits nicely where we use to keep the coffee pot so that's where it will live. I hate microwaving most foods because it makes things soggy. The oven takes too damn long. I'm going to be digging this thing if it lasts. :smokin:

Wait, what'd you do with the coffee pot????

Wife bought an air fryer about 6 months ago.... she made some awesome tots and onion rings, even some chicken strips.. then it disappeared. She blames it on Covid and lack of available tots, onion rings and chicken strips. FML.

My 13yo just made pickle chips in the air frier. They're delicious with a cold beer!

I got one of those in the camper bus. Can run it off the 12-220v inverter or the generator. Super simple way to provide some variation to our usual grill based cuisine when we're off camping or racing.
Fries, cheekun, nuggets, fish... bring it awn :smokin:

I'm not microwaving, my microwave has a built-in convection oven.

Black beans and rice, pizza, pork steaks.

Just used to for breakfast. Hash Browns and an egg /cheese burrito. I really like this thing!!

We just had air-fried chicken. No grease and not dry at all.

Just did our first chicken wings, crispy no grease. So far the programmed times are just guesses. Guess I didn't need the little picture buttons.:homer: Frys come out limp at 15 minutes but 20-25 is better. If I had my rathers I'd look for a unit with memory buttons. This fryer is not disappointing though... Easy to clean.

Just tried to rotisserie some chicken. What a joke. The little forks they give you are really thin stamped sheet metal and a PITA to put on. Once on the chicken was too big and hit the heating element :homer: I'll be cooking on a tray or I'll have to get smaller chickens.

Huh, wish I woulda research that did know that you made such a beast.

Most microwaves have them built in now. Over the oven LG model I bought my mom for Christmas was like $120 and does it.

Cut the chicken up or in half and do it. Mines a pretty standard size and def wouldn't fit a full chicken but I do thigh/leg cuts, wings, or marinated breasts in them all the time.

For fries, toss them in a bag with some oil and seasoning first, shake, then dump them in the basket to cook at max temp for as long as needed based on size. You still need oil for a lot of stuff, but you're using far less of it and the food isn't soaking up tons of it being submerged. I do the same thing with my chicken wings, toss em in a bag with oil and season, shake, then dump in the basket after preheating it.
