Why would you give a shit about another country's politics?

And this is the textbook definition of xenophobic.
And why European always shake their heads at "typical ignorant Americans".

that doesn't make much sense. many european countries run very strict control over their import/exports and even labor and immigration. on a level that would make americans scream

Serious question, why give a fuck about another country's politics? I know Canada sucks compared to the US, but I don't give the slightest bit of a fuck about the Canadian sultan or whatever faggy title they use.
  1. We are in a Culture War
  2. This war is Global
  3. Because of communication advances, the Globe is getting 'smaller'
  4. We have interlinked economies
  5. Socially, we are very close, Canadian culture matters in the US
  6. The US traditionally allows other nations to 'experiment' with policies, then adopts a mix of those policies, often from Canada
  7. Canada has long been used as a whipping post on American conservatives (buh-but Canada has socialized medicine!, ignoring the differences between our countries and the problems with Canada's health system, for example).
Those are some reasons off the top of my very large and powerful head.

Whether you think so or not what goes on in other countries does affect us. All you have to do is look at history to see that. This country DOES NOT exist in a vacuum.

Why? Because the US likes to think they can go around fucking the rest of world, you guys are the rapist country everyone keeps a close eye on.

Have you seen team America? The dicks, pussies and assholes speech was so funny yet so accurate.

Ya, because the greatest country in the world really gives a fuck what the limp wrist EU thinks :lmao:

Hook, line sinker, lol

Yes, i understand that. I was referring more to those who seem to have an obsession with the US, even though the live outside of its borders. This thread isn't as serious as some are making it out to be.

It's by far not the greatest, but believers in that propaganda will be the cause of its downfall

It's certainly the biggest and most unpredictable one. And, due to still having a weird sort of individualistic freedom, and being so very teen age, it still discusses its style and can adapt and change.

Other, older countries (as in way way older) are a bit too set in their ways.

Right now, the anglo countries of the western world are putting themselves at a huge risk. This is why we see the push toward useful things, like healthcare for all it's citizens, and more actual freedom BECAUSE of it.

Liberals, when they get a fucking grip from their far out bullshit, will change America for the better.

We don't give a shit about other countries because we mind our own and got plenty on our hands right here.

Other countries are like the little bitch nerdy kids that wish they were us. We are the cool guys and rent space in their heads day and night.
They wish they could be us, and if they can't be us, they play "wolf and the grapes he can't reach".

If you don't get a vote, you really should shut up about any of our politics. Like stupid Biden in his convention featured a country that supported him and they even said "while we don't get to vote, we support Biden". You had me at "while we don't a vote"...

If you're trying to imply that Germany is "older" than the U.S. you don't even know your own history. Germany wasn't even a country until 1871.

Europeans and Asians are always saying that horseshit.

The United States is literally the oldest nation in the world. Only San Marino can claim to be older and not even them because they had a Fascist takeover in the 1940s.

The UK tries to claim 1801, but the fact is they had a demotion of House of Lords in 1911, and the Lords were finally removed from Veto power in 1949, making the UK effectively only as old as the People's Republic of China, which was also formed in 1949.

The Parliment Acts of 1911 and 1949 would be akin to dissolving the US Senate, or in other words completely re-making the US Government into a new nation. So it can be said that the UK is in fact only 71 years old :lmao:

You're way too generous on 1871 for the Krauts. Germany is 30 years old :lmao:

Listen up, Noob. The United States is responsible for the existence of Germany. I know European education is poor to be generous, but you used to have a province called East Prussia, which is literally the German heartland, which doesn't exist anymore. It is now called Kaliningrad, after the Soviets ethnically-cleansed East Prussia, moved the border of Germany-Poland East, and re-settled the entire German population. That was the ancient seat of the Junkers, Konigsberg, and the spiritual heart of the Hohenzollerns.

France and Britain wanted to eliminate you and turn you into a province of France. Truman stepped in and shut that talk down. Then the US spent billions of dollars rebuilding your devastated shithole and gave you an Army, rather than annexing all of Western Europe.

Not colonizing Western Europe after WWII is basically unprecedented. Never before has a major power spent so much blood and money to conquer a land and not annexed it. It's literally never happened in the history of humankind.

For that act alone, the US is by far the greatest nation that has ever existed.

If Truman had not intervened, the Soviets would have dissolved East Germany and sent the population east to work in Siberian salt mines. But because Truman pressured them about this, and preserved West Germany, the Soviet bloc had to have their East Germany, so you survived.

You owe your existence to the US. As does China btw.

Ungrateful, ill-educated little turd.

When America gets a cold the rest of the world sneezes. The oversized impact that we have on global events by our participation or even reclusion can make or break other countries while barely registering as a blip on our radar. Look at what has happened with Iran, with the change of a president we pulled out of a deal were had signed, put sanctions in place, and pretty much bullied the rest of the world into playing along.

Depends on the country. Do I care what Canada or some third world shit hole is doing? No. But I care to some degree what other superpowers or wanna be superpowers are up to, particularly China because it has a direct bearing on our country. China should concern you, especially given the fact that Jinping has seized power for life and is hell bent on restoring and expanding China's authoritarian, communist policies.

China has dumped insane amounts of money into the entertainment industry buying up movie studios, music companies, video companies, ect left and right over the last decade to gain influence in the US through the media. Tiktok for example. Look how popular it's become. The Trump ban isn't some arbitrary threat, it's because the largest media conglomerate in China, Tencent, owns the servers that all the data is sent through and the Chinese are using it for for massive data collection on the American public including saving voice and video. Look into Tencent's history and what they're acquiring.

I care what policies are enacted and accepted in countries like the UK and Germany because the progressive left here care about it and take their shitty ideas directly from countries like those to see what they can get away with, to see what a populace will go along with.

Like it or not, what happens in other countries directly effects us. We are the predominant world super power and there's no peaceful transition to someone else taking over that role. The only thing that keeps us safe is the fact that there is no other country or group of countries that rivals our power or ability to respond if challenge, not just in force but in response time. There's a reason we spend billions in foreign aid annually. It's not out of the kindness of our hearts, it's an investment that comes with strings. Mostly in in real estate allowing us to build and maintain bases overseas. No other country has the global influence or response time that we have.

I enjoy politics, i find it interesting to see what other people will try, what humanity in general tolerates, what sets people afoul, all that shit. it's amazing

You need a better hobby

Go ride the 4 wheeler, shoot some guns, get away from the CPU and TV.

sometimes i read about politics in books as well, when away from the TV :flipoff2:

I guess you must be in the rainy part of WA to be that bored. If you must be inside reading or internetting, watch porn and yank your crank or something

Step away man,step away :flipoff2:

I just got back, took about 10 days with no news and maybe an hour of internet. it was nice, but now i'm back in the rainy side of WA. no reason for my mood to be any better than the weather :rasta:

1973 was not a good time to be an American Riots in the streets President Nixon was under fire, and would soon resign.
People in Europe were telling us we were a bunch of Facists and an evil country that they hated, after all the money spent by us to keep them afloat.
The French were the worst in my opinion, at the time and still are. We helped liberate them, spent billions of dollars rebuilding their country, pulled their nuts out of the fire of Vietnam then, they marched in the streets and called us baby killers and Nazis. I despise them to this day!
Then a lone Canadian radio broadcaster Gordon Sinclair got on the radio and rebuked all of them. His message became one requested over and over on the radio, people needed to hear that not everyone was against us. His message is kind of dated, but his sentiment is needed today.
He is one Candiain I wish I could say Thank You (June 3, 1900 – May 17, 1984) Vaya Con Dios

More than 20,000 people attended a Black Lives Matter (BLM) protest in Berlin on Sunday as demonstrations continued across Europe.

For the second consecutive week, people lined the streets of Germany's capital to protest for racial equality following the murder of African American George Floyd at the hands of a white police officer in the U.S. on 25 May.
