This is a WTF did I do edition.

CNC master began leaking and rebuilds not available. So I’m replacing with a Willwood unit.

So you can see that the outlet is a 3/8-24 on the Willwood unit.

Now I used a poly line crimp on my CNC without any issues

So the question is.... WTF did I do?

Is the CNC unit threaded differently than the Willwood?

Or did I say fuck it, send it when I installed the compression fitting into the CNC s few years ago?
 
The wilwood is straight thread 3/8-24 and likely has a flared seat inside the end of the fitting seals against

your original fitting looks like 1/8” pipe thread to me
 
I had this issue with a small wildwood caliper for my snowmobile. I said fuck it and re tapped it to fit a banjo fitting.

they sell master cylinder adapters that are tapped 3/8-24 straight thread.
 
If you lay the old fitting on the new fittings threads do they come close to lining up? If they do you could possibly run a 1/8 npt tap into the hole and make your fitting fit but you'd be running a chance of ruining the master.
 
And found a 3/8 poly line compression fitting that works with the supplied 3/8 flare fitting from Willwood. Makes sense that the compression fittings are not pipe thread.

Just 2cents more bs to add.
10mm x 1.0 and 3/8 24tpi are hyper close and one threads into another but not the other way around.
 
Wilwood runs a standard 3/8-24 Inverted flare line. the CNC master cyliders run an 1/8" NPT. Not the same thing and require and adapter to thread a brake line IF directly into it.

Funny thing is just about every wilwood brake part ive used has all been pipe threaded and included basic adapters.
