Who is familar with 7.62 ar15 setups? I have stupid questions

So for my last build im doing a 7.62 and have most everything handled.

Im doing this one like i fuck, raw.

Faxon barrel and bcg
Yankee hill break, gas block and pins
Most everything else is cheaper end and bought specificaly because its raw finish

But the biggest issue im having is magazines.

Because i want raw finish i understand im gona have to work (strip coating off) to get that. I want raw alum but i cant find any 7.62 that are alum at all, just stainless or plastic.

So the questions are...
1 Will the same oven cleaner process to strip anodizing off alum work on the stainless mags to strip those coatings?

2 i see guys talking about anti tilt mag follower but not real clear on specificaly which follower to use for a 5.56 mag (which are avail in alum)

3 is there a reason 7.62 are not made with alum? Springs to strong and bending lips out or ???

Its a bench/safe/oddball back up rifle so it will only see abusive use come hell and hippys should i not be able to get freedom seed and have to settle for comi nuggets

7.62 x 39?

I think that aluminum was a cheap way to make them for military use, that's why there aren't any in x39...

Why not just paint the mags with aluminum looking paint?

The only mags that reliably function with 7.62x39 AR's are ASC.

enough black there that I wouldn't care about the mags. Unless your going raw paint everything else. Otherwise no help.

Because its silver metalic and not remotely the same finish.

The black is all going away except the barrel and break.

G3 20 round mags are aluminum and steel and hold 7.62 caliber.

I have about 20 ASC mags and they all feed my 7.62x39 AR without issue. I prefer the 20 round mags because the 30's in that caliber are long, heavy, and it slows down my ammo usage.

My nephew went this route and it works but the proprietary mags got me to buy a palmetto ks47 instead. The bcg, upper and lower are the only proprietary parts and those aren't really wear items aside from the bcg possibly. Takes ak mags so a crate of them was easy to get before the WA ban came into effect.

I'll just add that I've had good luck with the C Products Defense magazines.

Anyone have any more insite on converting the ar mag/follower swaping or stripping of the coating on stailess mags?

Blasting is a poss, but ill be stripping the ano off the black parts anyhow.
