The dirt track near me used to do races where the driver had the steering wheel and brake and the passenger operated the throttle .

According to googles, ad revenue is $18 per 1000 view. So 2m views/1000 = 2,000 x $18 = $36,000.

And also according to goggle, cheapest base Tesla in the the $42k range. I'm guessing he got those wheels for free for the plug.

But still.....I'm sure he'll end up with a couple more million views when over the next few weeks, but it still doesn't add up to the amount he's spending per video....plus all the other shit he's bought. Almost seems like he's probably making less per video now because every new one has to be move over the top than the last to keep up the hype.
 
I have a premium YouTube account and I’m really starting to despise all the plugs in the videos. Exactly what I paid not to see. One of the channels that I watched was very open about the reason they were doing one of the plugs. They said they paid for about $5000 worth of gear with this on a channel with much less views. I think I’ll be surprised if it wasn’t some significant cash with that plug. Also be surprised if he wasn’t able to use that car for a couple more videos.
 
You also have merchandise and sponsorship adds. I bet he’s making 100k per video at the minimum. Once you get a certain number of subscribers you go into a higher dollar per minute watched category.

Also, most of the stuff he buys to make those videos can likely be written off as business expenses. He seems like a pretty smart kid (in reality, not the persona in his videos) - I wouldn't worry about him going broke any time soon :laughing:

I think you're way off in your numbers. Plugs make way way more than that.

LMAO, nobody gets paid $18/1000, that's the CPM not RPM. Realistic numbers are $1-5 actually paid to creator per 1000. My CPM is just over $10, my RPM is just under $4. I wouldn't doubt dude does better than me for ad placement, but not $18 better.

He's probably making $5k per million views from ad revenue only, but merch and other shit adds up to way more. Also keep in mind the back catalog is continually raking in more money.

If Social Blade is to be believed WhistlinDiesel's YouTube Stats (Summary Profile) - Social Blade Stats he's probably making a few thousand per day from ad revenue.
