So looking to check out Windrock Sunday Sept 22 and Monday 23rd.

Will be arriving Sunday like noon to afternoon.

Never been there as I'm from canaduh, so looking for some advice on which trails to run my SSII down without completely destroying it as I have to drive 800 miles home afterward towing a trailer.

There might be a couple more Scout guys going that went last year after Harvesters in the Holler event in Crossville, TN.

Let me know if you've got any Input.

My better half is coming too and assume she'll be doing a lot of walking as she has mega offroad anxiety lol.

So overall likely 1.5 days there will be camping.

Thanks.

15, 16, I did the rail trail backwards in a street driven Tacoma on 37s so you may make it:flipoff2:. That place is fucking massive, tons of trails to hit there!

Awesome thanks. Look forward to spending some time there.

All of them....rattle rock will push you. Dont be afraid of the ledges on the one trail. Big and heavy really helped me walk them

It's a huge park. Going out to the train is cool but takes a long time.

If you are looking to cruise around get a map and head to the flats at the end of 54 at the far end of the park.

I'm looking at likely staying on the moderate Blue trails. Like I stated have to drive this bastard home 800 miles and still cross the border.

Rather have some nice trail cruising days than major hard Rock days and risk breaking shit.

Still have a LP Kingpin 60 with stock axles...

trail 16 would be a good one for trail cruising.

its just one of those old school rolling and winding TN trails, nice off cambers, ruts, some climbs etc.. and its definitely moderate even when muddy.
Probably the best description of it! People like to shit on that trial, but I quite enjoyed it especially after a prior day winch fest on the hard stuff:laughing:. Nice trail to look at trees and enough is at least where you have to think and pick lines, but no "oh shit im probably going to break or flop" type stuff.

Winchested so you are driving the IH with camper trailer down for Canadia, wheeling, and then driving it all back up to Canadia?? You and Slander must be drinking the same maple syrup :lmao:

Plenty of "leaf looking" scenic stuff to do at Windrock for sure. Can also ride over to check out the Brushy Mountain State Penitentiary too.

Trail 15 is a good warm up trail since its right off the main road up the mountain. Trail 16 is good for views but it's a long trail and if you break on that trail or run into someone broke it can be a real shitshow and being stuck out there past midnight. (Speaking from experience)

The only thing on trail 15 I don't like is dragging my whole body down the 40 degree bank... Or should I be fine with one tons that stick out 4 inches from body?

Views is more what I'm after with my wife coming. Mild to moderate with views. She's an anxiety bomb just waiting to go off lol.

Oh then go out to the train, take the road to the top, etc. I missed the drive it home part. You will get tons of views at windrock

You will be fine. The hardest part of trail 15 is at the very end there is a off camber climb that throws your driver's side into a tree and will more than likely cause some body damage. If you stay to the right side you will take a harder climb out but will avoid body damage.

It looks like you would drag but you don't, my body never even touched the side and my tires don't stick out very far. I also don't recommend trying to straddle it, I tried it and when I fell off the bank and into the v groove my dog that was in the pax seat, ended up in my lap pissed off and scared:laughing:

Yikes. Ya I don't think mama would be happy with that,. But I sure would lol!

So after seeing the bushy state penn, that's on the must go to list. My wife is one of them big crime story women.

Only been there once to eat lunch, but they offer tours of the Pen (self guided, guided by someone, and guided by an ex-con that was sentenced there) as well. Supposedly you can do supernatural/overnight tours too.

Ya looks like in Sept only open Thurs to Sunday so will have to check it out Sunday.

I'm in for trail 15. Seeing the climbs at the end. I'm not to proud to winch in order to not smash the shit out of my rig.

Its litteraly a 2 min winch plenty easy. My scouts only 105" WB won't climb that last ledge.

Do your best and winch the rest.
