I’ve been shopping for tires for 3 months . Trying not to drop a butt load of money on my weekend toy but my cts-v is in need of tires . They’re 245/45/18s and I don’t want to drop 200 a tire on Michelin super sports . Anyone have a high performance style budget tire that I can look at ? I’m at a loss .

I looked up my goto cheap tire in that size and it came out at 196$. I think youd be hard pressed to find much better for a quality tire. On a car like that I would I wouldnt skimp on tires. 200 for some Michelins doesnt sound bad for a good name tire. The more I think about it, my goto cheapies would probably delaminate with that kinda power....

The previous owners shockingly put some no name junk tires on it they can’t handle the car in literally in situation and I’m debating on the Michelin’s still the pa3’s are about 186 on Amazon

Your problem is less the brand and more the 245 tire. Not sure what power yours is putting down, but when I had my V1, 550whp and 245s was an absolute nightmare. you would be miles ahead to run a cheaper 275 on the rear, it will help alot.

Well as a cheap skate I like the idea of being able to rotate all 4 tires . I’m just longtubes, CAI and tune at the moment but hoping to do head work and cam ASAP . Btw I do want that transmission mount you mentioned I ordered stage 2 creative steel motor mounts last night .

Ill Pm you later today about the trans mount. I would forgo the ability to rotate them and step up the rear tire size. There is only so much your going to get out of a 245 on that car. Take a look at some of the federal tires. They are from taiwan and have decent reviews for a cheaper tire. A few of my friends run them on their street/track cars with good results.

I was intending to buy Kenda Kaiser kr20s but they keep disappearing . I’ll set up the rear size on your recommendation I’ve been hearing it left and right I’ll just have to try it out .

I run falken Azenis rt615k+ on my NA miata. Super cheap. Super sticky. But I running them on stock 14” daisys, so they’re $100 each… also look at the Firestone firehawk Indy 500 is known to be good and cheap. No idea about your size, but worth googling.

She got new shoes today !

Late to the party.

I went with continental extreme contact dws06+ tires they’re commonly tested against Michelin PSS’s and the like . They have phenomenal reviews in wet weather etc which I find is one of the most important traits of a tire for a car like mine .
