Where you at, what do you do ?
What do you "wheel", and where do you "wheel" it ?

I live on Lk. Livingston, Livingston Tx. I’m a Paramedic (almost 30 yrs) and work in Harris Co. Houston. Its a one way commute of 1.5 hrs but i work 24 hrs shifts and its only 9 shifts a month.

My Jeep is a 2017 JKUR, purchased new in May of 17, up until this last year the jeep was my daily driver.
Nothing fancy or technical, just about everything is bolt on stuff but short of the re-gear and mounting tires, I’ve done everything myself.

3.5" MetalCloak GameChanger (I’m a MC fan boy) is what it is
MC Tie rod/ drag link
Adams F/R drive shafts
EVAP relocation
full set of MC skids, LOD sliders
TenFactory rear axle shafts, RCV up front. D44 has been sleeved and Cs are gusseted. TeraFlex ball joints.
Winch and bumpers
37" Nitto Trail Grapplers
4:56 gears, done with 35s but still like them with the 37s, seem perfect with the Hwy miles i still do.
MC aluminum fenders
Various other minor stuff

still to do/wish list
Hydro assist (probably RedNeck because the PSC stuff is pricy but i want PSC)
Brakes need "more Power"
Bead Locks

My 2 "home" places to wheel would be Barnwell Mt. in Gilmer Tx. and HiddenFalls near Marble Falls Tx.

We love Hot Springs Ar. and go there as often as possible.
Our most recent trip was to WindRock, we did it just the end of March smack in the middle of the Covid shit storm. WE debated heavily on going but the trip had been planned for many months, they stayed open.. We had a blast, and loved the entire trip.

Trips we want to make ASAP

I have a psc ram laying around somewhere if your interested. I am stuck between doing the hydro or just the big bore box and call it a day. I live in NJ so somewhat limited wheeling wise without hitting RC or NOAA over in PA. Been up to Maine a few times wheeling and can make it down to VA without too much fuss. Only spots we have local is some State forest trails (mudding) or join a club to access private land. I need to move-lol

I did pick these up today for a steal. Already have soft doors for the front but for $300 I couldn't pass em up. The uppers alone are more than what I paid. Also had the pockets inside. Just need to fix the color:eek:

I live Memphis, Tn. I’m a project manager/engineer for a large physical security company. I have a company vehicle so the Jeep is just a toy.

My Jeep is a 2007 2dr JK and I have had it since 2010.
It has had a bunch of slow but steady upgrades done since day 1.

I started with a Rock Krawler lift and building front and rear bumpers and a tire carrier.

Most recently I swapped to Superduty axles and 40's
It's long armed, stretched 6" and has outboarded coilovers on the rear and Raceline beadlocks.

It has on board air, custom switches mounted over the windshield.

I think my next upgrade is going to be a NWF crawlbox and a NP205 or hydro assist of some sort.

I usually wheel at Hot Springs ORV or Hawk Pride in AL

Live in Tucson Arizona. Retired Jarhead. Work currently as Environmental Health and Safety for Abrams Airborne which also owns Vltor and Milkor (look that one up), :)

Jeep is an 07 running 37's, have had it since August of 08. Wheel in Southern Arizona exclusively.

Running Clayton 3.5" with 1" BL.

Axles are trussed with RCV's up front and Factory Ten's in the back.

Hydro assist, OBA. Has only been left stranded one time and that was a shitty design on something.

Great stuff gentlemen.

I know that many of y’all know each other already but this is a new place/beginning.

i spent a small amount of time lurking @ pirate but not enough time to get to know anyone.
I’ve been a little active @ JKO, and although I don’t offer much I’ve really enjoyed most of the gang over there, and I see many making the jump.

it’s going to take a bit of sorting out, high tech vs bolt on but the commitment from ownership seems strong here, I have high hopes that this community with be strong.

I have no doubt that old bonds will be made stronger, and many new friendships will be spawned.

thanks for taking the time to introduce yourself.

You can buy one. Pony up 14K and get your tax stamp. It won't be a less than lethal though, it will be a full blown real deal one. Oh but the ammo is damm expensive.

FYI, I don't know anybody. I lurked on PBB and JKO for a long time. Figured I should be more active.

I've done worked 33 years for a major US dredgin' comp'ny. Just like a migrant farm worker ... gotta go where the work is. Got tired of ownin'/rentin' houses I was never at so now I'm a full-time RV'er. Pure trailer park fuckin' trash. Currently in Florida. Jeep's my daily driver.

Been wheelin' all my life but couldn't even spell JK when I bought one. And it didn't take me long to realize it's an electronic and plastic fuckin' nightmare. Rather than just sell the damned thang like a reasonable fella woulda done, I paid TNT Customs in Cheyenne, WY just shy of a million dollars to unfuck it.

Then I had it painted yella.

And now it's really cool.

Sup KB?

thanks for the response, I’ve got high hopes for this new internet home, I’m thinking it’s going to become the “new” JKO for us.

yellow?

yea I’m aware that you got your fair share of ball bustin’ over yonder. That was then, this is now.

yellow is for H2s and school buses. Fuck a bunch of yellow.

I put 200k on the odometer......
was my back and forth work ride.

treated me well for a long time, only problem I ever had was an exhaust leak (broken manifold bolt). I sold it when it started using a bit mor oil than I was comfortable with.

Ain't met many men that actu'ly admit to ownin' an H3. :flipoff2:

It is a pretty color tho. :smokin:

I ain’t one to make excuses but there is a story behind it all.
That “car“ was actually purchased for my daughter, situation changed and I ended up keeping it. Served my needs well for over 200k miles, and only ever had hwy. tires on it.
Got a great deal on it, 5 years old w/40k paid 10k. I put 206k on it, dumped it with just under 250k and got 5k out of it.
probably ended up being one of the better “car” deals I’ve ever made.

NEVER did get used to the color, NEVER lost it in a parking lot though.

I live in Kentucky. I have owned several Jeeps and Toyota pickups over the years and one Samurai. My last trail Jeep was a 2003 TJ with an 8.8 and a Detroit, a LockRight in the front, drivetrain lift, etc. It was a fun Jeep that I drove to the trails and back. Never could justify a tow rig and trailer.

I sold it in 2012 and bought a Suzuki DRZ to ride the TransAmerica Trail, I bought a couple of street bikes and have been riding for a while.

A few months back I bought a Gladiator, pretty basic but something to start on. So far I've added a 2" lift and some tires. I like to make my own stuff if possible.

The trails I ride are mainly in the southeast part of Kentucky and Southern Kentucky.

I lurked and learned on Pirate but did not post a lot. This is a cool site.

Central coast California. Before that San Diego, so I have a deep rooted love of Mexico and the desert and even some sand dunes. Hollister Hills is closest, but after about 24 hours that place gets a little boring. Johnson Valley, the Anza-Borrego desert, Superstition, and maybe Glamis or Dumont on an uncrowded weekend after a wind to score some smooth dunes.

LS swapped YJ on tons is currently under the knife to find 15 more inches of cargo space and 13 inches of wheelbase. Going up from 37s to 40s. Also just inherited a 98 TJ with a 3" lift and some 33s from my parents after the declared that they were too old to hit the desert any more in their late 70s. Wife has called dibs and I'm thinking maybe 35s, some aluminum armor to keep it safe, a new cage and turn over the keys to her to have fun.

In the mean time, I've been trying to not flog the wife's truck on our desert trips and stick to wringing out a moto instead:

Washington..... (just south of socialist central)!!!

Resi construction (mostly custom tile work)!!!

Bought in 03 rubicon back in 09.... (3 1/2 inch lift, 35’s) have beat the fuck out of it since..... I’m gonna go throw it soon as I get this farm house remodel done!!!!
Bought a 14 JK for the wife back in 14.... (leveling kit and put some Goodyear all terrains on it last spring)!!!

Most wheeling is at Evans creek or Elbe!!! Favorite trails are in naches and liberty!!!

I’m pretty quiet and keep to myself on here!!!!
:flipoff2:

In central TX. Had an 07 JKUR, which was rolled, and now a 13 JKU. The JKU is mostly the wife's DD. I've also got a project XJ that is getting a 6.0 swapped in. I'm hoping to have it completed in the next few weeks in time to take the old man out wheeling when he comes to visit for Christmas. Check my build thread of XJ pics.

I'm a professional nerd sitting behind a computer for a living. Previously served in the Army, 5 years active, 10 reserve.

Northeast TN here, there are not trails locally at all. The one that had been open my entire life was closed about 3-4 years ago due to Buggies, the assholes would ride the creeks and do hill climbs like they're in a competition. There were told and warned but still elected to go against the grain and eventually got the trail closed.

I've been up Hurricane Creek in NC etc. but the Jeep does what we want when we're out loafing in the mountains. I plan, have been planning lol, to visit CO and spend a couple of weeks riding the mountain ranges etc with it but time vs work just sometimes doesn't pan out.
