Looking for info on a Joel Lee Faison. He showed up outside of Richmond VA with an ankle monitor. Would they let him out of state if the charges in NY hadn't been settled?

A quick search only turned up dry holes and paywalled sites.

Why? You a narc?

What do you mean he turned up? You know him personally and he just showed up? If hes got a tag on him the feds probably kicked him loose till his next hearing. Or he did his bit and hes out on probation.

No, I'm not a narc. Thanks for asking. He moved from NY to VA at some point and caught some more charges. Mostly DUI's and possibly a DV. If the feds dropped the charges or sent him on his way is what I am looking for. It's public information, I am just trying to find it.

Ankle monitor doesn't mean you can't travel, if you clear it ahead of time. Does this guy have an official residence in VA? Could be another factor in where you see this guy.
 
If the charges are Federal they may have moved him here to hear the trial at the Federal courthouse.

It seems like a permanent change of address.

Motorcharge, that's possible. Maybe the SDNY is too busy railroading political opposition than trying drug cases?

The case was from 2018 before Fentanyl became a thing to the sentencing commission and the courts. Looking that he got out of Federal custody within a few months of the crime tells me one of a few things…he was a low lying fruit aka street drug seller…or he cooperated heavily against his two co-defendants. I sent his register number to my work email, Anything that is public information I will report back tomorrow night.

Cool, would like to know what you find. I think you’re right on both seeing as the Long Island gang task force being involved
 
Guy ended up spending 2.5 years from 2018-2021 on Pretrial Services in a jail leading up to his trial. After being found guilty he was sentenced to time served and released. Unsure of post incarceration supervision.
