Way out West.
Down to about 10% so need to do something soon. Runs stove, oven, water heater, outdoor grill and clothes dryer.

Propane consumer here, and my dad is in the propane transport business. Best time to buy in bulk is the 2nd week of August, give or take a few days.

However, at least in our neck of the woods, demand is down right now as compared to years past. If I were you, I'd buy the minimum you need for right now that your supplier will deliver and get you thru to late summer.

Do you own your propane tank? I just got rid of Servigas and bought a tank, so I can shop around. Currently 2.43/gal about 200 miles south of you. Company I bought the tank/propane from said their busy season just ended, so you may be able to score a deal now.

Hah, delivery just came today. $3.33.

Check around for buy ins at work or something. The place my wife used to be at, had a massive buy in with 100s of people. The street prices was upper $2. We paid 80 cents. It was nuts.

Our summer fill rates are good from June-August and are the best rates of the year. Our highest prices are usually in October and November when farmers are drying corn.

You need to

Oh and do some homework regarding the yearly contract plans. Granted, I live in a much colder climate and burn more gas than you will in a year. But I just had the last of my contractual gas delivered today (my contract expires 3/31/21) for $1.29g

No the pane company owns it. A guy from PBB hooked me up with the friends and family plan, but it's probably still more than owning the tank and being able to shop.

I just bought some today... Paid 1.95 a gallon; asked if I should wait to see if prices go down. She suggested that I buy it now; has a funny feeling that it is going up. :smokin:

That's what I'm thinking. EVERYTHING is going up.

2.60 a gallon in Magalia California delivered

Suppose it could be worse but since the tank is round the closer it gets to the bottom the faster it goes down to 0.

As more volume in the middle of the tank.

Spring in michigan. You call your propane dealer and say "I am down to 40% you guys coming out by July? When does the super-duper discount end?" Theyn they tell you, you pay, they come out sometime in summer when the drivers and dealership are like "hey I have to finish this one" because it's at the bottom of an excel or qb list.

July/August is our lowest in this area
we own a 500 gallon tank and get it filled every 2 years :flipoff2:

2100 sqr foot house, but I have only turned the heat on for an hour the last 2 years just to make sure it works.
wood stove for the win

Fucking spiders come running out to bite you!!!!! BTDT!:lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao:

Between July 4th and Labor Day. Any time after Labor Day the refineries are ramping up for the heating season. Basically the lowest demand (hotter out the better) is the time to buy.

Yawp. For us we skip the woodstove if its above 40º out. Use the propane. Otherwise its 90º in the house. We get propane once a year now.

Wood is no free ride though. :homer:

Have a 500 gal tank. Gets filled 2-3 times a year depending on how long and cold winter is. Usually I fill in August or September and then again in February or March. Out of 10 winters here I have had 5 where the cold was so hard and long that I had to fill in January and April. This year I filled in September for .89/gal and filled again in February for $1.33/gal. I rent my tank but anyone will fill it. Just never let it run empty or you get the tank testing charge. But I will say the mild to end of August is usually the best price up here.

Isn't propane by the pound? If a property deal d=goes though soon I will be moving to a location where I will have to use propane for cooking and pool heater. The house uses oil for heat and I figured I'd run the dryer on electric unless propane is more economical. Is it?

Depending on your electric rate it could be, but I doubt it. Propane has a higher BTU content than NG, so it doesn't take much to dry a load.

Just ordered a fill. $1.90 per gallon. Maybe someday I'll fall in the sweet spot, but I figure it's costing me about $47 per month which I think is pretty damn cheap.
