Put high steer on my scout, with the H2 rim I was having clearance issues with the high steer arm and the tire. Added some 1/2 inch spacers, and now the high steer arm clears just fine but we have another issue. The lug nuts fully thread onto the wheel studs, but the thread on the stud ends where the thread on the lug nut ends. I know there is supposed to be a few threads that go past the thread on the lug nut though so it does not look safe to me.

Axle is a 92 Ford ball joint 60 and the wheels are H2 rims with the ID machined out to fit on the hubs. All the threads I could find are about longer wheel studs are for Chevy 60's. Is there anyone that sells longer wheel studs for the ford 60's or another application that might work?

If you have a set of calipers you can knock one out to measure then sort by knurl size and threading on Dorman's website to come up with a part number to do what you need to do most of the time. I don't know for sure if they'll have what you need but I've never failed to find the stud/lug nut I need this way

Thanks, have to take a hub off and measure a stud sometime this week.

Having a couple threads stick out would be better but what you have is fine. You don't need longer studs unless you're going to change to a thicker rim.

I'd loctite them if you're using spacers and not proper wheel adapters.

But ya Dorman has a catalog that you can search stud shoulder, knurl, and length.

Felt alright with this setup for cruising around town and wheeling, not something to cruise down the freeway with. Saw some studs listed for a superduty that should work if I knocked the holes up a size. Will have to check a stud to see.

Why should I have to loctite them?

Wheel spacers and not wheel adapters are known to work the lugs loose.

Anytime you stack a bunch of shit you're liable to flex shit and work it loose. See also: fuckhuge leaf spring lift blocks.

That said, I wouldn't lose a second of sleep over "reasonably" sized spacers or adapters torqued as specified.
