What's new

What's On Your Bench?

In the kitchen instead of on the bench because it's hot as fawk in the garage. New body for the SCX24 showed up.

Who makes the dent side body?

I thought the crawlers looked really cool but so do the go fast buggies . I’ve never pieced one together so I like the idea of being ready out of the box but having upgrades available like I’ve been reading on here !
Something like the Axial Yeti can do a reasonable job of both or you could do what the rest of us do and get multiple cars :lmao:

Here's a video of my VSe, the RTR (ready to run version) makes a good starter buggy (mine was an 80% roller) and they're solid out of the box with most the mods being lightweight racing stuff.

Vs my crawler which was RTR and is also good fun but slow

Who makes the dent side body?
Carisma RC, they make 1/24 and 1/10 scale ones (and whole RTR trucks as well). Ordering direct from them takes a while since they're in Hong Kong.

I have a newish Axial Wraith with tools and upgrades and such that I never got into I could let go reasonable. PM if you're interested

Replica of my real one

Just got a new motor for my boys scx24. For the price they really are great for kids. And put some new gears in my old losi comp crawler. Was suprised I could still find parts for it.

For my next step in pouring way too much money into a tiny truck meant for beginners I snagged a sweet carbon fiber chassis from Team Garage Hack for my SCX24. Angled transmission skid plate was the main thing I was after but I did get to drop the body a little lower while I was at it.

I haven't had an rc for a few years and thought the TRX was pretty cool when it came out but I like to build my rc's. I seen Traxxas finally made the TRX in a kit form so me and my oldest daughter built it over the winter. It's still running stock electronics but a motor upgrade is in the future. I'm running the axial 69 blazer body on it but just picked up a Gmade military blazer body for it so I can make it like our fullsize.

Just wrapping up this iteration. Most of the parts are from an axial ax10 that I had maybe 10 years ago. Upgraded motor/esc and a bunch of other drivetrain things. Just dumped all the good parts I had into an scx10 frame with some 2.2 tires/wheels from the old crawler I had and bought a body to match my XJ. Seen next to the 4l60e going into my jeepster project on the bench

The Clodbuster was the first hobby grade RC car I ever saw, back in the mid 90's. Need to get one of those someday.
After 30yrs I can still hear the gear noise.

I bought the first one that hit our local hobby shops shelf the day it came in.

Took me a week to build it, then two weeks later I tore it all down to install roller bearings as the plastic donuts wore out.

30 years later, ball bearings are still an optional extra on most Tamiya kits!

I remember drooling over all the Thundertech chassis upgrades and parts for the Clods. I've always wanted one, ever since I was a little kid looking at RC Car Action magazines.

Rebuilt my SCX-10 after sitting on the shelf for years

Built the tube frame (brake line) and skinned with aluminum panels

Been really wanting to build a tuber but the whole time thing. Hardly have time to put into my Tj. The 1.9 wraith I use for local comps and just tooling around. The Tamiya is my jam tho. I have a set of wraith axles coming for it. Both fairly built but nothing crazy.

What's the Tamiya based off of? TLT1?

Some nice rigs you guys have!

Unfortunately all my junk is in some state of repair and I need to do some teardowns at this point :shaking: Most of my stuff is based off the Axial SCX10. Not rich enough to afford all the kickass parts that are out there, so a lot of my stuff gets DIY'd

Here’s the Hilux I’ve been slowly tinkering on, with some tape to mock-up the future paint job. My dad had a Toyota pickup with lumber rack, so it's kinda a tribute to him - hoping I built it well enough to take a tumble and not self-destruct like some of my past junk

Well my 4 year old has out grown the speed and capabilities of the scx24 so it's now his little brother's. Went back and forth on what to buy him. After alot of review reading I decided to give this ridge rock a shot. It could use some new tires they are hard as a rock. But for the price it's not a bad first rig.

Well my wife woke up with a bug so I stayed home with the boys today. Dug out my box of parts and found some old hb rovers. They are way soft and really help it work way better. It could use some front axle weight but idk if I want to go crazy with plastic gears just yet. And a picture next to my losi comp crawler for size comparison.

Then there is this year's axialfest build

And the the trusty class one truck. There are a few more projects but these are the only ones functioning or at least close.
