This is on a 6.2 L Detroit deisel. Look just to the right of the air cleaner mount. There is a silver canister thing, kind of like a dysphame container.

It has a 1 1/4” rubber hose that goes to the front of the engine and two 3/4” hard lines that go to both sides of the intake manifold. I feel like removing it and plugging the holes to make it simple.

It’s just right of the alternator up on stand offs.
 
Its a Crankcase Depression Regulator Valve or CDR Valve for 6.2 Diesels 83-92. This valve is similar in function to a PCV valve in a gas engine. On a diesel, the CDR valve regulates the amount of pressure or blowby from the crankcase back to the intake

Ford IDI trucks had the same thing
 
I have a box of them. CDR, pay shipping and I will send you one or two. Or save some bucks and wash it out and use it some more.
