I guess its just to acknowledge you like something, without actually leaving a comment. Austin pretty much said use it, or don't.

so times I read something someone posts and agree with it but don’t really have anything else to add to what was said. It’s faster and easier to just hit like an agree rather than quote the person and type out that I agree with them. I’m getting lazy in my old age.
