What did you do to your GM today?

New steering box. Fucker's mint.

Either I didn't corny the box 4 times before I installed it, or it is slightly different than the OEM one. I'm just going to lengthen/shorten tie rods.

I noticed I have inner tire wear. Previously it was outer tire wear. Only on the driver front tire. No clue how or why it changed.
Did you replace it with a Red Head?

No. Edelman. Same as the pump and hoses I did last weekend.
It does get the advertised 3.3 turns per lock which should match factory. Maybe I’m off 180 degrees so how, but when I tried rotating the steering wheel to fix it (one bolt easily accessed) it move the steering wheel to far the other direction.

I've changed steering boxes that I know were centered, then the wheel be crooked. It has too do with tighter tolerances or something.

White lithim greased up all moving points, cleaned and detailed in and out of door panels, both sides, re wire lock/unlock wiring. Re glued sheet back on. Removed factory cover grill, prep and painted then reinstall. I highly recommend these speakers on factory radio. Because hearing guys said to sounded better than theirs. So yah deaf rocks :flipoff2:

Ready to eat farts.

Just curious what did that set you back $$? And how long did it take you?

Pricing is all over the place... These seats needed everything but I replaced lower foams, lower covers, upper covers, and did the arm rest covers

It needed upper foams, which are not made, and the seats were so destroyed the wiring had pulled out of and shorted 3/4 seat heaters.

I spent way too much time, first learning how to use my steamer to bring back the upper foams as best as I could, then to smooth the covers as best I could. Had to fix the seat heaters, deal with all the BS, 3.25 days total :homer:

Cost could have been as low as $400ish with China microfiber leather. Or as high as $1500 with the seat shop, or $1800 with katzkin and new lower foam.

I used US Auto Seat cover this time because last time I used the Seat Shop and while they are nice my research led me to believe you pay for their marketing.

$710 all in, leather surfaces, vinyl sides like factory. I see no difference in sheen, feel, grain, fit compared to the seats I have here with Seat Shop lower covers and foam.

It looks good and comfy. Would have guessed you had more $ into them.

1 year and 23,000 miles

250,347 miles
No unxpected critical parts failures
Hit 7 deer, killed 6, 5 with the bumper. And the winch already came in handy once so far.

Did lose a heater hose and a coolant block off cap.
Rebuilt the front suspension but thats gm ifs for you.
Replaced hood and barn doors from paint/clearcoat failures
Did replace the coolant res because of plastic degridation.

Been a damn good driving vehicle that i enjoy driving and feeding fuel to.

Torque.
It just holds gear going up hills.
Doesnt kick down till youre half down on the throttle.

The gmt800 6.0 is constantly kicking down on windy roads.

Totalfatherinlaws 08 6.0 5lsomething never holds a gear, 10% more throttle, kicks down, let off and immediately kicks up, on the throttle again, instantly drops gears again, wana pass a car on flat ground minimum 4 shifts.

Just acquired a takeout ls3 cam and lifters dirt cheap to finally delete the dod out of my gmt900, once snows gone/warms up i will make room in the shop and get started on it.

I have wanted to do this for a few years but havent had time to do it. Hoping this helps to get a few more years out of the truck if the body holds up.
