What's new

What did you do for your ford today?

Need to replace the factory original body mounts (soft/squishy) :

Someone makes a kit of poly bushings for like $50. Just buy that and replace them all in one shot.

In the cases where bushing sleeves are stuck and you have to cut bolts I usually just upgrade to 5/8 hardware and 1/2 galv pipe for the sleeves since those are cheap enough and readily available.

Another lake trip this weekend, no pics unfortunately.

I modded my dirt bike trailer with a couple of 4x4 timbers for bunks and set just the stand-up jetski on it, so I didn't have to tow the whole 20' double place jet ski trailer like usual.

It liked that setup a lot. 12.5mpg, able to hold 75mph on cruise control without any input.

It's pushing about a quart every 500 miles out of the front and rear mains and painting the trailers though, so that will need to be addressed after the squarebody is done. For now it shouldn't see enough miles to really become an issue.

Got the front end tore off this weekend. Noticed front of frame had a hack job with a torch. Gonna have to buy some steel to fix it now. Bumper mounts are still good. Why would anyone do this?

I'm ordering the Prothane 6-107 body mounts. $106

What are the factory bolt size?

Ordered the affordable offroad front winch bumper, it will be here next tuesday. They had a 20% off sale for memorial day and free shipping and no tax. Woohoo.

Thinking about getting a 13K stegodon winch for it.

Recently wrapped up a major refresh on my Ranger. MarsFab reworked the front suspension and chassis for more up travel. I rewired and replumbed the entire truck. Added fresh sheet metal and paint too.
Cool story, I know.
Anyway, to fit this thread, Thursday I added a different grill and some paint on the headlight frame.
Between C19 and work, this 6 month, off-season refresh took 2.5 years 😬

those headlight insert things look awesome!! :smokin:

I put a used axle in my lap d30. Apparently it doesn’t like 35s, locker, and throttle allay once.

Been chasing a death wobble issue since I got this pile. Everything loose has been replaced. Still had a vibration at 45-50. Decided to balance the front tires. I had to remove all the weight on them and add 2+ lbs of lead to each tire before I could get them close to balancing.
Amazing how much better it drives. :homer:

Well didn't let the intercooler sit too long in the box. What a PITA. I should have waited til December for it to cool down. Should have it finished up by the end of the week. If I feel motivated. LOL

Damn!

You should a see healthy bump in performance output.:smokin:
I don't think you gain any performance output from just an intercooler install. It will keep EGT's down and help with other mods later on, i.e. bigger turbo and injectors. this winter gonna tear it out though. There are two spots around the radiator that are too close to the pipes for my liking. it will work for now but I wanna give it a little more room.

Agreed, its more of a supporting mod. Slightly slower spool but totally worth it for a tow rig.
